IDEA 10 Installation for Apple OSX

For students with Apple computers, it is up to you to obtain a copy of Windows and integrate it. The
emulator is the correct way to do this, unless you partition and install Windows directly.

Step 1- Download an emulator

Virtual Box (https://www.virtualbox.org). Proceed to the Downloads page located on left-side of page.
Download the OSX (amd64) version. Open VirtualBox. Use the 2nd link below to install.

Step 2- Download Windows 10.

You will need a Microsoft login account. Please use your own or create one.

Step 3- Install Windows.

Step 4- Log in to Windows and Install IDEA software using the instructions below.

Prior to installing this version of IDEA, you will need to uninstall any prior version. You
must be signed on as an Administrator to install the software.

1. Download IDEA Version Ten Educational Edition into your PC here:

2. Right-c lick IDEAv10.1.0_Edu and select "Run as Administrator".
• This w ill start the Install Shield Wizard and File extraction will begin.
• The Windows Command Prompt will open and run. Please be
patient as it completes the installation. It may take a few
minutes.
• The Command Prompt will close when completed.
3. IDEA can be found within the Windows "Start Menu" under "All
Programs". The program will be found under "IDEA". Click "IDEA" to
open.
4. CaseWare IDEA will ask "Would you like to check for any updates
to IDEA". Please select "No" to proceed.
