The purpose of this exercise is to test your ability to determine subject areas. Given below are 5
passages from academic papers. Read each passage and identify the one correct subject area from the
options given by clicking on the correct box ☒. You are allowed to use Google or any other search
engine to reference any word/phrase. Do not attempt to edit any of the passages.

1. This paper examines the dynamic relationship between competition, liquidity provision, and market
structure. By examining the entry and exit of market makers in the US Options market, this study
empirically analyses the issue of market maker competition. Results indicate that market maker entry
depends on a broad range of profit, risk and market concentration characteristics, but free market
maker movement does not explicitly result in a competitive market structure. This study also finds that
the degree of market concentration additionally affects the marginal impact of market maker entry
(exit), but the effect is significantly more pronounced for the most liquid classes of options. The
implication of this finding is pertinent to market regulators since market maker competition may not
necessarily contribute to enhancing market quality for less liquid securities.

2. The change of the day nursery system is progressing today. There are two sides of the day nursery, to
which the infants from a guardian are entrusted every day, and the development support. Today's
system change is the purpose of settling of a "waiting-child-for-day-nursery" problem, and the
discussion focused on the side of childcare. In order to accept many infants by social childcare, the
public responsibility of a day nursery system has to become thin. We owe two things to a historical
research. First, the public responsibility of childcare is brought about the extrinsic reason. Secondry, the
day nursery has done the original responsibility as the level of childcare increases. We have to
understand the essence of childcare, before an institutional reform, based on these.

3. In order to determine the influence of cable vibrations on the contact resistance of connectors, the
cable resonant frequency and the resulting movement of both parts of the connector have been
studied. The increase of contact voltage, followed by rapid fluctuations generated by wear particles, has
been analyzed. A test bench designed to monitor wire vibrations was used while the transferred
amplitude was measured by a high sensitivity displacement sensor. The contact interface was made of
copper alloy and tin coated. The connector was connected to a resistive power supply transmitting
different currents and voltage values. Two investigations were performed on the contact voltage
measured with a fast sampling oscilloscope which enabled histograms and a Fast Fourier Transform
analysis to be obtained.

4. We conducted this study to evaluate the safety, effectiveness, success rate and complications of
needle knife precut papillotomy for inaccessible bile duct after failed pancreatic ducts access. Selective
common bile duct cannulation was required for 582 patients. Precut sphincterotomy was performed in
28 patients. When standard bile duct cannulation was unsuccessful after more than 20 minutes, the bile
duct was considered inaccessible. Group A consisted of patients where pancreatic duct access was
possible and transpancreatic papillary septotomy was performed (20 patients). If pancreatic duct
cannulation also failed, needle knife precut method was performed and these patients belonged to
group B (8 patients). The success rates were 85% and 87.5% respectively. Of the 28 patients in group A,
6 had mild to moderate pancreatitis and one patient had mild bleeding. The complication rates were
35% and 0% respectively and the differences were not significant.
