Aerospace
Aerospace manufacturing companies not only rely on our machines and spindles for dependable Wing and fuselage structure P.5 -
performance, but they count on us to develop the machines, technology and processes they need ・Aluminum
for the ever-increasing demands of the industries.
By designing machines focused around aerospace parts production, Makino has been able to A55
analyze the requirements of this unique market and developed a solution that enables aerospace
parts to be produced at the lowest possible cost.
In an industry that demands precision, Makino machines deliver precisely what aerospace
manufacturers need. Our aerospace machining centers are helping manufacturers cut cost and
time by minimizing non-cut time, setup reduction, and tool changing. Our automatic pallet han- MAG7
dling and storage systems let us create automated cells that can produce components around the
clock with required accuracy and with minimum cost. In rapidly changing industries, Makino con-
tinues to be a company aerospace manufacturers can count on.

l Chip removal
The large volume of chips generated by
high speed machining are efficiently
removed, so there is no need to evacuate
any chips while machining. In addition,
because chips do not accumulate at the
cutting point, there is no re-cutting of chips
by the tool, which increase the tool life.

l Trunnion table
The table tilting mechanism employs
a trunnion that is supported on both
sides. Large trunnion shaft is also
used to ensure high rigidity. Drive
torque is transferred by a
symmetrical gear arrangement on
each side of the trunnion. This dual
drive provides exceptionally high
table positioning accuracy without
any phase differences or twisting of
the trunnion. Special gears are used
on the drive shafts of the tilting and
swivel mechanisms to eliminate any
need for backlash adjustment.
