1. Teacher greets the students.
2. Teacher plays a video https://youtu.be/jt5AuodU0B0 and
Warmer randomly asks a few questions pertaining the video. 5 minutes
3. Teacher introduces the lesson for the day. – Lesson 11.

1. Teacher asks the students to open their reading textbook to


page 48 and look at part A.
2. Teacher then explains the instruction clearly to the students
and gives them 1 minute to come up with the adjectives.
3. Once done, teacher calls out a few students to share their
answers.
4. Teacher discusses the answers and gives feedback.
Pre-reading 5. Teacher then asks the students to read the questions in part B. 15minutes
6. Teacher explains the instruction clearly to the students and
gives them 2 minutes to fill in the chart with information from
two of their classmates.
7. Then, teacher calls out a few students to share their answers.
8. Teacher discusses the answers and gives feedback.
9. Teacher then explains the reading skill (contextual clues -
synonyms) to the students.
While-reading 1. Teacher instructs the students to read the title of the passage
on page 49 and asks them what the passage could be about.
2. Then, teacher asks the students to skim and scan the passage.
3. Teacher asks the students to answer the sign post questions
while skimming the text. 25 minutes
Sign- post questions
1. Why are there fewer opportunities for people to get
proper jobs in a developing country like Indonesia?
ANS: Because there are a lot of people. (P2 L3)

2. What is the name of the majestic red bridge?


ANS: The Musi River Bridge (P3 L2)

3. What is the famous food in Palembang made of?


ANS: Fish (P4 L3-4)
4. Teacher then discusses the answers for sign- post questions.
5. Teacher introduces new vocabulary to the students.
6. Teacher then discusses about the content of the passage and
checks students’ understanding on the passage given.
1. Teacher asks students to use synonym clue and complete
exercise A on page 51 individually.
2. Teacher allocates 5 minutes for students to complete the task
given.
3. Teacher discusses the answers and asks the students to justify
their answers.
Post-reading 20 minutes
4. Teacher does FB/EC.
5. Teacher then asks the students to complete exercise B on
page 33 individually.
6. Teacher discusses the answers and asks the students to justify
their answers.
7. Teacher does FB/EC.
1. Teacher reflects on the skills that the students learnt by asking
questions to them.
Wrap 5 minutes
2. Teacher assigns the extra comprehension questions as
homework and ends the class.
