was established in the year 1914 with the objective of preventing unfair methods of competition

Gibbons v. Ogden,
This was a state case influencing commerce on the internet; this case was a milestone decision in
which the United States Supreme Court decided that the commerce clause had issued power to
the Congress so that it could regulate or control interstate commerce, it was also decided that this
power circumscribed regulation of navigation. The case was argued by a group of America's who
most admired and mastery attorneys at the time. The court ruled this case in favor of Gibbons;
the reason is that Congress had the right to control commerce within the interstate. The sole in
this case decided that the commerce clause was the source of Congress's power to enforce the
law at issue.
