SCIENTIFIC REWARDS
The final assignment I made was a 3-Axis CNC Mill Prototype Machine. This machine
uses MKS Board V1.3 as its controller and RepRap LCD as its interface. SPACE is
the name of this machine which stands for Simple Precise Affordable Compact
Elegant.

In order to make this machine simple, aluminium is mainly used as the actuator
frames and mountings. Designed to be light and only processed by milling, wire cut,
and EDM. Ballscrews and rail guides are used to make this machine precise instead
of using rollers and regular leadscrews. It is a modular machine that each of its
actuator can be switched to any axis, therefore this machine isn’t only compact and
affordable yet also elegant.

There are only two types of fastener screws which this machine uses, inbush screws
and socket JF screws. That makes the assembly and disassembly processes easy and
only requires one tool, allen spanner.
