SERVICE LOVE IN COMMUNITY – AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER

Anchor Verse:
“We must consider how to rouse one another to love and good works. We should not stay away from our
assembly, as is the custom of some, but encourage one another and this all the more as you see the day
drawing near.” (Heb 10:24-25)

Topic:
Do you remember the first time you served in a Christian Life Program? What was it like? This community
has changed our way of life. It has allowed us to meet new friends, learn new things, and fall deeper in
love with God.

As we make our way down memory lane, let us reminisce the fun we had during our nourishing household
prayer meetings, and those simple but precious conversations we had with our household whenever we
served with them. Indeed, we were on fire and in love with our service. We had zeal to serve our brothers
and sisters in the community. We were one in heart, mind, and spirit. Our mission became our way of
life.

However, time and people have changed. The demands of modern and stressful living have strained
relationships among our brethren. Accustomed to fast-paced life, gradually, people began to emphasize
intense service over investing deeply in relationships. It seems that we have experienced a great paradigm
shift in our community life. God is calling us back to what is essential, to the basic. We are asked to bring
back the joy, fervor, and love of service to God through community.

As we rekindle the gifts and love of service in community, we must also restore and renew our zeal and
fervor to love and to serve our brethren in community. We have to stress loving and serving our
household members more.

We must strive to become true friends and families to each other. We need to have respect, honor, and
care for one another. We are meant to be our brothers’ keepers. We are to deepen our interior life and
pastoral relationship. In the end, it’s about God’s grace and mercy. God Himself will make a way to bring
back the love and care between and among brethren: He himself will renew relationships, ignite zeal and
fervor for service because this pleases Him as a Father. All we have to do is to abide in Him all the way.

Hope springs eternal for the future of families because He has anointed our community through the power
of the Holy Spirit to renew the face of the earth.

Key Takeaway:
True love and care between and among CFC brethren is fundamental to our culture and communal life.
Zeal for service to God through CFC is one of the fruits of authentic brotherhood and sisterhood in Christ.
