1. PRE-REQUISITES

2. DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL: SMART VIEW, IMCM RIBBON (EXCEL PLUG-
INS) AND FIREFOX ESR
DOWNLOAD AND RUN

1) Oracle Hyperion Smart View for Office: Download latest version from
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/smart-view-for-office/overview/index.html.

IMPORTANT: Run the above exe as administrator. Right click on the

executable and choose Run as administrator. See illustration below.

2) File: IMCM Ribbon.msi from the workspace. Double click on the .msi and follow instructions
to install.

3) Firefox ESR version –

a) If you have windows 32 bit
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/52.9.0esr/win32/en-
US/Firefox%20Setup%2052.9.0esr.exe
b) If you have windows 64 bit
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/52.9.0esr/win64/en-US/Firefox Setup

For the period of the training, disable updates as follows. (Illustration below)
1. Type about:preferences#advanced in the url
Or, Go to Firefox > Options > Advanced > Update.
2. Check “Never check for updates
3. Uncheck Use background service to install updates
CHECK PROGRAMS AND FEATURES

The steps so far will install the following (the versions or the 32/64 bit may be different in your
case):
TEST YOUR INSTALLATION
TEST 1

i) Launch excel

ii) Open new worksheet

(1) In the toolbar, check if you see the Smartview tab. If yes, go to next step.

If no, uninstall and re-install making sure you followed installation instruction in 1.
Contact development if still unsuccessful

(2) In the toolbar, check if you see the In-Memory Cost Management tab

If no, try test in point (3)

(3) Go to Excel > Smart View tab > Options > Extensions. Check if you see the In-
Memory Cost Management extension
 If no, uninstall and re-install making sure you followed installation instruction in 1.
Contact development if still unsuccessful

TEST 2

Go to Firefox > Add-ons > Extensions and verify that the Oracle Samrtview for Office
extension is enabled. If not, try enabling it. Contact development if still unsuccessful
