(5) OBJECTIVES (one general objective and at least four specific objectives)
To yield an attainable solution and practical concepts in mitigating traffic congestion to lessen
community impacts.
Specific Objectives:
1. Transportation Infrastructure
a. Loading and Unloading Areas
b. Road Widening
c. Pedestrian Lanes
d. Further Improvement of the Existing Flyover
2. Survey of the present traffic situation on the study area
3. Collection of data of possible number of vehicles traversing with in the area
4. Prediction of increase of volume that may traverse the study.
(5) METHODOLOGY
Reconnaissance Survey
This survey includes the study of the area (topographic features), interaction with the local
residence, experts and study previous investigation which is related to the proposed project study.
a. Level of Service is one way to analyze roadways by categorizing the traffic flow within a certain
area and assign the quality levels based on the measured parameter like speed, density and volume.
Traffic Volume is the number of vehicles that traversing the road per unit of time.
Traffic density – number of vehicles occupying a given length on the highway in traffic lane.
b. Traffic Signals and Flyover
c. n/a
d. n/a
e. Rerouting and expansion
Traffic Count Survey
Manual Counting of vehicles traversing the roads. (Peak hours – 6:00 – 9:00 in the morning
and 4:00 to 7:00 in the afternoon)
Collecting of data through the locals using Survey Sheet
(6)EXPECTED OUTPUTS
1. Identification of the cause of traffic congestion with in the area
2. Possible solutions in mitigating traffic congestion with in the study area
3. Predict of increase in number of vehicles
4. Evaluation of existing traffic flow and transportation infrastructure with in the area
