 JOB DESCRIPTION
Project Systems Engineers are assigned to subsea production system (SPS) projects to ensure that all
technical requirements of customer specifications and the contract are adhered. Divided into two
disciplines between controls systems and oil tools, both disciplines are required to execute a SPS project
effectively. Project systems engineers are led by the project Technical Manager who has overall technical
responsibility for the SPS project.

Job Responsibilities:

Ensuring the component parts that comprise the SPS function together to meet the system
requirements and align to the contract requirements.
Work in close harmony with the project Interface Engineer to ensure that all interfaces are identified,
considered and closed out to the satisfaction of all parties in a timely manner.
Responsible for the preparation and generation of, or input to the Design Basis Memorandum.
Review Functional Design Specifications for the individual product groups and third-party suppliers
that comprise the SPS.
Responsible for directing and coordinating, or input to the system design review to meet the
requirements of the Design Basis Memorandum, and maintain the design review action register and
closure of action items.
Preparation of System Documents such as project system procedures and plans, system P&ID’s
and system block diagrams.
Coordinate the required reviews in conjunction with Reliability Engineering group and other
members of the systems engineering team, providing technical input to project HAZOP's, HAZID’s
and Risk Assessment.
Contribute to and coordinate the preparation of the Materials & Welding Design Basis for the SPS
equipment with the metallurgy and welding engineers.
Coordinate the seabed oil analysis work undertaken to verify the foundation structures, and review
and develop detailed foundation specifications to meet the project requirements.
Coordinate the analysis work undertaken to meet project flow assurance requirements to ensure
compatibility with hydrate prevention strategy, chemical injection requirements, effects of slugging,
etc.
 Provide input and relevant information for the Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) study

support the creation of the Reliability & Assurance Document.

Provide input parameters for Cathodic Protection (CP) calculations in compliance with project
specifications.
Ensure project testing requirements are achieved by generating or input to a project test matrix &
SPS Test Philosophy Document.
Support Operation, Installation and Maintenance (OIM) documentation. Ensure seamless interface
between the various products & tooling, facilitate ROV accessibility studies, collate and determine
scope of SPS spares for installation & commissioning.
Provide input and prepare report for project close out.

Job Requirements

Degree in Engineering or related field with and/or minimum of 6 years’ experience in an engineering
role in the oil field business or associated industry.
Working knowledge of national and international rules & regulations applicable to oilfield tools and
subsea production equipment.
Good interpersonal and presentational skills, the role requires interaction and effective collaboration
with internal departments, third parties and customer representatives.
Competent technical writer, speaker and presenter, and be able to prepare and present high quality
technical papers to customers.
