Specification

Recommended requirements to run Initial D on my PC?

You will need a controller, keyboard or your steering wheel & shifter setup to play.

For graphics: a NVIDIA gpu is recommended & AMD gpu requires fixes (links provided
in download section).

The minimum specs for 720p 60fps (Ringedge 2 HW Specifications):

CPU: Intel Core i3-540
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 545 with 1 GB video memory
RAM: 4 GB

Emulator

"Can't Find ParrotLoader.exe"? / “Cannot find budgie loader”

Your anti-virus software thinks it's a virus. Add it to the list of exceptions to avoid the
emulator from being detected.

"d3dcompiler_43.dll missing and other .dlls"?

Install Microsoft DirectX End-User Runtime, Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.1 and
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package.

What is Spacewar on Steam when playing?

It’s normal, just ignore it.

How do I save my card/game?

You save your game by exiting to the main screen after finishing a game mode (time attack,
story mode, factory). Your card is located in C:\Users\
(username)\AppData\Roaming\TeknoParrot. You can back it up into a .zip file if you want.

Graphics

My GPU is Intel HD Graphics, is it enough to run it?

Nope, the game doesn’t support integrated graphics card. You must have an NVIDIA
GPU for the best performance since the original board uses NVIDIA GPU

Getting PFD, stencil, error?

Update your graphics drivers. Delete ID8 and extract fresh game files again.

Game won’t start. Green screen errors?

Emulator doesn’t support integrated graphics. You need a dedicated GPU to run the
game.
Resolution issues, game looks like it’s off centered?
Make sure the scaling is set to 100% in your display settings.

AMD graphics card issues?

Turn on “EnableAmdFix” under TeknoParrot’s game settings and get Nezarn’s AMD

Game speeding up looks like is fast forwarding?

The game runs in 60 FPS, anything higher than that will cause this problem. To fix it,
enable VSYNC on your graphics card and set your monitor to 60 Hz to avoid the game
speeding up.

Controller Input

Gas and brake issues? They are not working properly.

If you have support for "report combined pedals", make sure you disable them. We want
the Gas/Brake to work independently. I made a mistake while using my G27 wheel with
having my pedals combined.

If your steering wheel supports full axis, make sure you tick "Full Axis Gas" and "Full
Axis Brake" under Emulator Settings.

If you see - and + when you hold / release the Gas/Brake it means it's full Axis. If you
have full axis and do not check the box, the gas/brake will not function properly.

All premium wheels have full axis such as the Logitech G27. Lesser wheels like
Logitech Momo Red do not. If you don't enable full axis for Gas/Brake, as you press the
Gas the Brake will be pressed as well.

If your steering wheel supports full axis, make sure you tick "Full Axis Gas" and "Full
Axis Brake" under Emulator Settings.

Reverse Axis means when you have a problem in the game where you don't even hold
the Gas/Brake and it's doing something. This is for you!
Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity and deadzone for the xbox one
control. It seems like the input is so sensitive, its on full left or right
by just barely touching it.
set stooz control to 10% bro, my shit is golden after doing that. make sure your axis is
set to + not -. When setting axis I press right on the thumbstick ONE TIME. It should say

Game crashes after selecting any course / after loading card?

Install update +B (extract files to ID8 folder) then update +D (extract files to
roaming/teknoparrot folder).

How do I buy cars for the Factory garage?

Press “view change” on demo screen to go to Factory when “free play” is disabled.
Make sure “FreePlay” is turned off in the TeknoParrot game settings if you are in
Patreon version. If not, force credit play by hex editing the dump file and change

If you don’t want to hex edit, grab Nezarn’s ID8 Garage for Plebs in the download
section or get the ID8 Trainer. After that, set a button for “coin”, so you can add arcade
credits in-game. You can only buy cars in the Factory with in-game arcade credits.

How to backup your save / card?

As of right now (1.51), ID8 uses old card saving format. Make sure you can see hidden
files and folders then go to your C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\TeknoParrot,
and back up the “SBZZ_card.bin” file to a zip file or folder.

Why am I not getting anyone on TeknoParrot Online to race?

“If you are just seeing either no one entered your room yet, or you entered a dead lobby.
If you see after creating lobby = no one joined yet.
If you see after joining lobby = the person who made it left already.”

Error 5110?
The version of the card is different for the game or your card is corrupted. Delete the
card from your roaming/teknoparrot folder and make the card again.

Error 5101?
The game receives no response from the card reader. This error is caused by an
outdated version of TeknoParrot that does not support card saves, or running Initial D
without picodaemon.exe

To play without saving, you will need to disable card reader from the test menu.
To play with saving, you need to read the “readme.txt” that comes with your version of

My car is so slow! It loses a lot of speed when turning, so how do I fix

it? OR How do I make my car fullspec?
1. Go to the folder where you have installed the game
2. Open data\CAR\info_csv
3. Open <manufacturer>_car_info.txt of the manufacturer of the car you drive. (e.g.
MAZDA_car_info.txt
4. There will be a list of car names, and a number at the end (usually 2). Change this

How do I install the racing engine in the AE86 Trueno / Levin?

Open AE86T_car_parameter_info.txt in data\CAR\info_csv and change the last number 21630
(or 21xxx) to 7361559. For the Levin, do the same but in AE86L_car_parameter_info.txt.
