Jillian Bakes, LLC is a small socially, environmentally and health
conscious company owned by a financial professional turned baker! A
Philadelphia native and 2005 Wharton graduate, with a BS in Economics,
Jillian Blacken, head baker and owner of Jillian Bakes, left Philadelphia
after graduation, headed to NY where she spent 10+ years working for
some of the largest financial institutions including Smith Barney,
Goldman Sachs and Citigroup. Before long she realized her passion was
baking after which she enrolled in the Institute of Culinary Education in
Manhattan where she earned a Pastry and Baking diploma.
Jillian Bakes was founded and fueled initially by Jillian’s exhaustive
search for a delicious tasting vegan brownie, made with all natural
ingredients. She decided to try her hand creating what her taste buds and
evolving plant-based lifestyle longed for, the best vegan brownie ever!
After mixing variations of recipe ingredients and taste testings for family
and friends, she baked the just right Just Chocolate brownie.
