ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

PURPOSE

The purpose of this assignment is to develop learners’ ability to analyse the human
resource management practices of employee selection and performance evaluation in
an organization of their choice.

Human resource management is a shared function. Even though human resource


department is responsible for employee selection and performance evaluation, other
departments play a significant role in executing these functions. As such, better
understanding of human resource functions by all departments will ensure effective HR
functions and ultimately help the organization to achieve competitive advantage.

REQUIREMENT
Based on an interview with a Human Resource personnel (HR Director, HR Manager, HR
Executive, etc.), explain the current practices of employee selection and performance
evaluation in the organisation. Proceed to identify weaknesses of the current practices
and suggest solutions to ratify those weaknesses.

TUJUAN

Tujuan tugasan ini adalah untuk membangunkan kemampuan pelajar untuk menganalisis
amalan pengurusan sumber manusia pemilihan kakitangan dan penilaian prestasi dalam
organisasi pilihan mereka.

Pengurusan sumber manusia adalah fungsi bersama. Walaupun jabatan sumber manusia
bertanggungjawab untuk pemilihan dan penilaian prestasi pekerja, jabatan-jabatan lain
memainkan peranan penting dalam melaksanakan fungsi-fungsi ini. Justeru, pemahaman
yang lebih baik mengenai fungsi sumber manusia oleh semua jabatan akan memastikan
fungsi HR yang berkesan dan akhirnya membantu organisasi untuk mencapai kelebihan
daya saing.

KEPERLUAN
Berdasarkan temu bual dengan kakitangan Sumber Manusia (Pengarah Sumber Manusia,
Pengurus Sumber Manusia, Eksekutif Sumber Manusia, dll.), terangkan amalan semasa
pemilihan kakitangan dan penilaian prestasi di dalam organisasi tersebut. Teruskan untuk
mengenalpasti kelemahan-kelemahan dalam amalan semasa tersebut dan cadangkan
penyelesaian untuk memperbaiki kelemahan-kelemahan tersebut.
