🃏 Rules/Information 🃏

🎰 General Information 🎰

This is a point-based chorus battle with three rounds (games) in all. Each game will be six (6)
weeks with a two (2) week judging period.

Double Chance:
● You may still submit your entry within 12 hours after that (for a total of 24 hour grace
period) with a two (2) point deduction for each hour after the initial 12 hours.
● ANY SUBMISSIONS AFTER THE FIRST 24 HOURS WILL NOT BE COUNTED, AND
YOU WILL RECEIVE 0 POINTS FOR THE GAME.
● If your team does not submit an entry for the first game, your team is automatically
ELIMINATED and MAY NOT submit an entry for Game 2 and/or 3.

Themes:
● Each game, you will be given three words as a theme, randomly generated through a pool
of pre-selected words.
● Not following all components of the theme can result in point deductions.

🎰 Groups 🎰

Each group will have EIGHT (8) members.

● At the beginning of a game, each member will be ASSIGNED A ROLE
○ Animator, Artist, Mixer, Vocalist, or Jackal
○ Each game, the assigned role will change. For example, if you were assigned “artist” for
the first game, your possible roles for the second game are animator, mixer, vocalist, or
the Jackal. Your possible third game roles will exclude roles you fulfilled during games
one and two.
■ Due to the number of members, one member will be repeating the role of vocalist
during G3.

● Each team will have three (3) vocalists, one (1) animator, two (2) artists, one (1) mixer, and one (1)
Jackal.
○ The Jackal, aka The Jack of All Trades may help ONE role in need. This means you may
end up with 4 vocalists, 2 animators, 3 artists, or 2 mixers.
○ This title is assigned to you by us the organizers and you will be allowed to choose the
role you’d like to fulfill for that round.
○ The Jackal’s role for the game must be declared by the second week and confirmed by the
organizers. There will be a Google Form to do so. You may NOT change the role that the
Jackal fulfills after submitting the declaration form.
○ Failure to do so will result in a -10 point deduction.

● You may be a part of more than one group. Do so at your own risk.
○ If you are part of two or more groups and choose to drop out of one, it will mean that you
are dropping out of all teams. This is not negotiable.

Free Play:
○ You may switch out people without penalty, as long as you notify one of the organizers.
The switch is subject to the organizers’ approval.
○ The person’s roles will be treated as if they never switched. For example, if Person A was
an animator for G1 and was vocalist for G2 but dropped out, Person B for G2 would be a
vocalist, and would be either an artist or mixer for G3.

🎰 Passes 🎰

Emergency Switch Pass

● Receive ONE pass per team at registration
● Only use in case of extreme technical difficulties (i.e. even the alternate programs do not run at
all)
● Allows for ONE member to switch roles with another person, provided sufficient proof and
explanation (i.e. pictures of the problem or videos, screenshots, so forth)
● The member they switch with will be decided by the dealers via random number generator
● The member is allowed to continue off of wherever the other person left off:
○ Example: Person A - Animator || Person B - Artist
○ A can't run program || B already made sketches
○ A can continue with the sketches B drew or start a new project completely
● With this said, we ask participants to check out the programs they plan to use for each role to
make sure they run properly
Role Switch Pass
● Possible Promo Reward
● This pass may be used to switch any TWO members’ roles for that game
○ For example, Person A has vocalist role and Person B has animator role, but by using the
pass, Person A would be animator and Person B would be vocalist for this round.
○ The roles would be treated as if they never switched. In the above example, it would be
possible for Person A to be assigned the animator role for a later game.
Random Role Switch Pass
● You may BUY ONE pass per round, at the c ost of 20 points
○ 20 points will be deducted from your round total
● You must buy/use the pass within the first W EEK of the round
○ After the time period, the pass is no longer offered
● You will nominate one person who will switch roles, and the dealers will decide the person they
switch with via random number generator

There will be 6 categories:
Overall, Vocals, Mix, Art, Animation, and Bonus.

🃏 Dealers 🃏

Each anonymous dealer (judge) will be judging two or three categories in addition to the
“overall” section. The dealers will be judging at least one category they are experienced in
and one category they are not experienced in. This is a lottery, after all, so why not spice
things up a bit by giving the dealers a challenge, too?

Note: at least one of the dealers for each section will be experienced in the category, so you
will never have only inexperienced dealers for one category.

🎰 Joker: Vocals, Mix, Art (♡♠♣)
A singer of over 10 years, Joker initially got into the YouTaite scene in late 2012.
They often go head first into their obsessions to hyperfocus on them and to neglect
everything else in their life. Their current o
bsessions interests include favourite Utaites on
Nico Nico Douga like 96Neko, Mafumafu, and Amatsuki, as well as recording a million
songs without actually mixing any of them. After a short hiatus following their first few
uploads in 2012, Joker is back in the YouTaite scene with this exciting new CB for you!
Participated in:
● Battle of Disney - Vocal, Animator
● EncoreDB - Vocal, Mix, Animator
● HRRCB - Vocal
● VBDB - Vocal, Mix

🎰 Edge: Vocals, Art, Animation (♡♣♢)

An artist of 6 years, he started off with chibi tutorials from Mark Crilley and went off
from there. Ironically though, he absolutely hates drawing chibis now, but hey, everyone
starts somewhere. His art is inspired by DA and IG artists Yuuikesama, Rossdraws, Suuika,
Miura, Sakimichan, and Juwei. He did not start taking art seriously until about 3 years ago,
and since then, his art glowed up. As a youtaite, he is not a veteran but he has followed
several youtaites like Vulkain, Howl, and Saint for a few years now. His animation learning
journey was inspired by Rafscrap and Howl. If you use Comic Sans in your animation, he will
 ESIGN IS MY P
dock all of the points (not really but he will die). “GRAPHIC D 45510N.”
Participated in:
● EncoreDB - Artist, Animator
● HRRCB - Artist, Mixer, Vocal
● MTP’19 - Vocal, Animator
● ACB’19 - Vocal, Animator
● LSO2019 - Animator, Mixer

🎰 Dirty $: Vocals, Art, Mix (♡♣♠)
Obsessed with Utaites, Dirty $ slowly drowns herself in CB hell. By the time this CB
starts, she will hopefully be a mature woman who doesn’t sound 10. If you use Comic Sans in
your animation, she will give 10 points for pity (literally) [no, not really].
*PS. If you're curious, go Google “Dirty Money”
Participated in:
● Battle of Disney - Vocal
● PKCB - Vocal
● VBDB - Vocal, Animator

🎰 Sy$tem: Vocals, Mix, Animation (♡♠♢)
A regular maso of CB groups. She’s not that much good at her staff roles, but she has
enough knowledge in all fields to actually help out in any field in case something happens
to the group. Sy$tem is rather new to the Youtaite community, having joined only in mid
2017. However, she has a fiery passion for singing and getting involved in all sorts of
collaborative projects in the community. She’s also passionate about Japanese voice acting,
so she will be happy to hear good JVA in your entries!
Participated in:
● GOB - Vocal, Mix
● NHCB - Vocal
● Battle of Disney - Vocal, Art
● BtSCC - Vocal, Art
● EncoreDB - Vocal
● GPPCB - Vocal
● HRRCB - Vocal, Art, Animation
● SCB2 - Vocal, Art

🎰7 77: Vocals, Animation (♡♢)
777 has been animating for 4 years now, and she’s also studying music as her
major. It will be her first time judging for a CB despite being in a number of CBs
throughout the years so she’s pretty excited for it! Her visual inspirations are mostly from
korean choruses, but she looks out for animations by MIAPA especially.

(Edge note: I love her animations and voice so much)

🃏 FAQ 🃏

Q: What are some free programs for each role?
A: These are merely free and not necessarily good, but here are some programs:
Vocalist/Mixer - Audacity [x] , Reaper [x]
Artist - GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) [x], Inkscape [x], Microsoft Paint,
FireAlpaca [x], Procreate [x], MediBangPaint [x], Ibis Paint X [phone/tablet app]
Animator - AviUtil [x] , DaVinci Resolve [x] , HitFilm Express [x] , Lightworks [x]

Q: How much help can a teammate give to another teammate regarding a role?
A: A teammate may send any tutorials/instructions, but the teammate with the
assigned role must complete it - any file sharing between members with different
roles is prohibited.

Q: Roles are assigned?? How does that work?
A: At the beginning of each game (round), the team leader will be notified of
members’ roles, eg “Joker - Artist; Edge - Animator; Dirty$ - Vocalist; Ace - Vocalist;
System - Mixer” etc. Each member must complete their assigned role for the CB,
even if they may not have prior experience.

Q: Ok, but what if none of us knows how to do our roles?
A: Don’t worry, and try your best! One of our subcategories takes this into
consideration, and gives points on how well you did despite the odds being against
you.

Q: What is the Jackal?
A: The Jackal is a made-up role for this CB. The member who is assigned this role
may choose ONE of the other main roles (vocalist, artist, mixer, animator) and assist
them in that category. For example, if your animator has never animated before, your
Jackal may choose to be an animator for that round to assist your animator.
