151 revised Roses Afghan

Materials needed
any #4medium weight yarns can be used.

Pink Poodle x 1skein needed

US I9/5.50MM hook

Skill level: intermediate

Notes: corner shell=2dc,ch1,2dc

FLOWER MOTIFS – make 14

NOTE; the side that is facing you for rnds 1-7 is going to be the back of the flower.
Rnd 1: With I hook and pink poodle or desired flower color. Ch2, 6sc in 2nd ch from hook.Slst to
join. ch1 (6sc)
Rnd 2: Sc in same st as joining. (hdc,dc,hdc,sc) all in the next sc, * (sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc) all in the
next sc,* rep from * to * around. Slst to join.( 6petals started.)
Rnd 3: Ch 4, slst on the side of the flower that is facing you, between the first and second
petals, * ch4, slst in the front, between the next petals * rep from * to* around. (6- ch4 loops)
Rnd 4: (sc, hdc, 3dc, hdc, sc) all in the first ch4 loop. Repeat between ( ) around....6 second set
of petals.
Rnd 5: Ch4, slst on the side of the flower that is facing you, between the first and second
petals, * ch4, slst on the front of the flower, between the next petals * rep from * to * around.
(6- ch4 loops) Fasten off pink poodle. Attach fresh green to any ch4 loop.
Rnd 6:With fresh green, work the following stitches (sc, hdc, 5dc, hdc, sc) in each ch4 loop
around. Slst to join. (3rd rnd of 6 petals made)
Rnd 7: Ch 5, slst on the side of the flower that is facing you, between the first and second
petals, * ch5, slst on the front of the flower, between the next petals* rep from * to * around.
(6- ch5 loops) Fasten off Fresh Green.
Rnd8: Turn flower over working with the right side of flower facing you, attach off white to any
ch5 loop, ch3, 7dc in first ch5 loop, 8dc in each ch5 loop. Slst to join. Ch3 (48dc)
Rnd 9: (ch3 counts as first dc) 1dc in each of the next 10dc, corner shell in next dc, (1dc in each
of the next 11dc, corner shell in next dc) repeat 2 more times. Slst to join. Ch3.
Rnd 10: 1dc in each of the next 12dc, corner shell, (1dc in each of the next 15dc, corner shell)
rep 2 more times, 1dc in last dc. Slst to join. Fasten off. Tie in ends.
NOTE; Sew 5 squares in 2strips and 2squares in 2strips. Put aside for now.
 MIDDLE OF AFGHAN
Rnd 1: With I hook and off white yarn, ch26, 1sc in 2 nd ch from hook, 1sc in each of the next
23ch, 2sc in last ch. Now working on opposite side of ch, 1sc in each of the next 23ch, 1sc in
same ch as beg. Slst to join. (50sc) Ch3 (ch3 counts as first dc)
Rnd 2: 1dc in same st as joining, 1dc in each of the next 23sc, 2dc in each of the next 2sc, 1dc in
each of the next 23sc, 2dc in last sc. Slst to join. Ch3. (54dc)
Rnd 3: corner st in next dc, 1dc in next 23dc, corner,1dc in next 2dc, corner, 1dc in next
23dc,corner, 1dc in next dc. Slst to join. ch3 (66dc +4 ch1sps)
Rnd 4: 1dc in next 2dc, corner, 1dc in next 27dc, corner, 1dc in next 6dc,corner, 1dc in next
27dc, corner, 1dc in next 3dc. Slst to join. ch3 (82dc)
Rnd 5: 1dc in each dc to next corner, corner, (1dc in each dc to next corner, corner) rep 2 more
times, 1dc in each dc to end of rnd. Slst to join. ch3 (98dc)
Rnds 6-11: repeat rnd 5. slst to join. Ch1
end of rnd 11 fasten off and weave in ends.
Now take your strip of 2 flower motifs and sc together holding the wrong sides together, on the
shorter side of the afghan. Connect the strip of the other 2squares to the other side. Then
connect one strip of 5squares on the top and one strip of 5squares on the bottom of afghan..
After you attach the last strip, do not fasten off

OUTSIDE BORDER
Rnd 1: With I hook and off white, ch3 where every you left off on the afghan after attaching
last strip is fine. Work 1dc in each st around entire afghan, and in the 4 corners work 2dc,ch1,
2dc=corner shell. slst to join. Ch3
Rnds 2-4: 1dc in each dc around and corner shell in each corner. Slst to join. ch3 end of rnd 4
fasten off the off white.
Rnd 5: With I hook and Fresh Green, attach to any dc. 1Sc in each sc around and in each corner
work (1sc,ch1,1sc). Slst to join. fasten off green.
Rnd 6: With I hook and mauve, attach to any sc, 1sc in each sc around and in each corner work
(1sc,ch1,1sc). Slst to join. fasten off pink poodle.
Rnd 7: With I hook and off white, attach yarn to any sc, 1sc in each sc around and in each
corner work (1sc,ch1,1sc). Slst to join. fasten off and weave in all ends.
