The Chi Rho is one of the earliest cruciform symbols used by Christians. It is formed by
superimposing the first two letters of the word "Christ" in Greek, chi = ch and rho = r. Although not
technically a cross, the Chi Rho invokes the crucifixion of Jesus as well as symbolizing his status as the
Christ. The earliest evidence of the Chi Rho symbol is Constantine's use of it on the labarum, the imperial
standard, in the early 4th century CE. Lactantius, a 4th century Christian apologist, reports that on the
eve of the Battle of the Milvian Bridge in 312 CE, Constantine had a vision of God in which he was
commanded to mark his men's shields with the Chi Rho symbol. After Constantine's success at the
Milvian bridge, the Chi Rho became the official imperial insignia. Archaeologists have uncovered
evidence demonstrating that the Chi Rho was emblazoned on the helmet and shield of Constantine as
well as those of all of his soldiers. Coins and medallions minted during Constantine's reign also bore the
Chi Rho. By the year 350 CE, the Chi Rho began to be used on Christian sarcophagi and frescoes. [A
The Latin Cross, also know as the Protestant Cross and Western Cross Latin cross.
The Latin cross (crux ordinaria) is a symbol of Christianity even though it was used as a pagan symbol for
millennia before the foundation of the Christian Church.
It has been found in China and Africa. It appears on Scandinavian Bronze Age stones depicting the
hammer of Thor, their god of thunder and war. It was regarded as a magical symbol. It brought good
luck and diverted evil. Some people interpret rock carvings of the cross as a solar symbol, or a symbol of
Earth with its points representing north, south, east, and west. Others say it represents the human form.
The Borromean Rings represent the trinity.
There are many symbols of the trinity in Christianity. The Borromean Rings are three interlocking circles
that symbolize the Christian trinity. The word "trinity" comes from the Latin noun "trinitas" meaning
"three are one." The trinity represents the belief that God is one Being made up of three distinct Persons
who exist in co-equal, co-eternal communion as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Main article: Chi Rho
The Chi Rho is formed by superimposing the first two (capital) letters chi and rho (ΧΡ) of the
Greek word "ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ" =Christ in such a way to produce the monogram. Widespread in
ancient Christianity, it was the symbol used by the Roman emperor Constantine I as vexillum
(named Labarum).

Protestantism is a form of Christian faith and practice which originated with the
Protestant Reformation,[a] a movement against what its followers considered to be errors in the Roman
Catholic Church.[1] It is one of the three major divisions of Christendom, together with Roman
Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy.[2][3] Anglicanism is sometimes considered to be independent from
Protestantism.[b] The term refers to the letter of protestation from Lutheran princes in 1529 against an
edict condemning the teachings of Martin Luther as heretical

The term "Roman Catholic" appeared in the English language at the beginning of the
17th century, to differentiate members of the Catholic Church (in communion with the Pope)
from other Christians who use the term "Catholic"; comparable terms in other languages already
existed. Being "catholic" is one of the Four Marks of the Church set out in the Nicene Creed, a
statement of belief accepted by many churches even if not in communion with the Pope.

In popular usage, "Catholic Church" is usually understood to mean the same as "Roman Catholic
Church". It has continued to be widely used in the English language ever since, although its
usage has changed over the centuries.[1] The church widely known as the "Catholic Church"
consists of 24 autonomous churches (all of which are subject to the Pope)— one "Western" and
23 "Eastern" — governed by two sets of Codes of Canon Law.[2] To refer to all 24 autonomous
churches together, official church documents often use the term "Catholic Church" or, less
frequently, the term "Roman Catholic Church".

The Eastern Orthodox Church, a branch of Christianity also known as Eastern Orthodoxy,
Orthodox Christianity, or the Orthodox Church, identifies its roots in the early Church, particularly as it
developed within the Greek-speaking eastern branch of the Roman Empire. The Eastern Orthodox
Church accepts the first seven Ecumenical Councils (which were held between 325 and 787 C.E.), and
regards itself as the True Church. The Eastern Orthodox Church is organized with an episcopal structure
including the Four Patriarchs of Alexandria, Antioch, Constantinople, and Jerusalem (the Patriarch of
Constantinople is the first of equals) and consecrated bishops (whose lineage is believed to be traced
back to Jesus' apostles). Their worship is highly liturgical and extremely iconographic, both of which are
central to the Church's life, history, and practice. Their icons, which include depictions of Jesus, the
Virgin Mary, biblical scenes, or saints, are believed to create a sense of the presence of God. Eastern
Orthodoxy is strongly doctrinal and places great authority in the Bible, the Creeds (Apostles' and
Nicene), and the seven ecumenical councils. Like all other Christians, Orthodoxy is Trinitarian, believing
that God exists in three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).

RITUALS
A common Catholic tradition involves the kissing and bowing down to images and statues of Mary,
Jesus, dead people and angels. The Bible says that is wrong, and such objects should not even be made
(Exodus 20:4-5). Jesus told us to worship God in Spirit and truth (John 4:23-24). There are many other
Catholic practices and beliefs that can't be found in the Bible, such as saying prayers for the dead.
Generally Church services involve intricate rituals and ceremonies that are not found in the Bible, but
have been invented by people. God has said in the Bible He is more interested in what is in peoples
heart than rituals and ceremonies.
