Title: STUDY OF THE TRIBOTHERMIC BEHAVIOR OF A DYNAMIC ALUMINUM-STEEL CONTACT

This work focuses on the study of the dry thermal and tribological behavior of the sliding aluminum-
steel pair, for well-defined mechanical parameters (time, linear velocity and normal force). For this
purpose two approaches have been realized, the first experimental using a pion-disk tribometer in an
atmospheric environment and a thermocouple for the measurement of contact temperature and the
second digital by the COMSOL Multiphysics software was undertaken in order to characterize the
temperature.

The results obtained show that these parameters have a significant effect on the tribological behavior of
the couple studied. The discussion of the results is based essentially on microscopic observations of the
worn surfaces and interfacial phenomena resulting from the dynamic contact process.
