Introduction to eCATT.
The Extended Computer Aided Test Tool is a new automated
testing tool that allows you to create automated functional test cases
for the majority of applications running in the SAP GUI
You can test the behaviour of the application by reading and testing
the values returned by the application

Features
Using eCATT we can:

• Test transactions, reports, and scenarios

• Call BAPIs and function modules
• Test remote systems
• Check authorizations (user profiles)
• Test updates (database, applications, GUI)
• Test the effect of changes to customizing settings
• Check system messages

Four Steps:
 System Data
 Test Script
 Test Data
 Test Configuration
 System Data
To Specify the target System where we need to move our data.

 Test Script
Click on “Pattern” to record the transaction.
Now, the transaction starts recording, give the “mandatory
fields”.Once transaction is completed go back to SAP easy
access screen then stop recording in the test script as below.

Now go to the processed screen and mention the parameters

which need to be Import and Export.
TEST DATA CONTAINER:
In this we can mention our variants using two ways:

1. Internal Variants

2. External Variants

To import parameters from your test script EDIT-

>Import_Parameters and mention your test script name.

Now the parameters imported to Test Data Container.

Internal Variants:

This to add only one or two variants. Click “Append variant” and give
new values to your variant.
External Variants:

This is used to do mass upload of data using a flat file.

For External Variants we need to download the variants using

Edit->Variants->Download

File will be downloaded as .txt format. To add variants open with

Excel file, add variants as below in excel file:

Now again save the file as .txt format to upload the excel file.

Test Configuration:

This is used to configure your test script and test data configuration.
After Specifying this, Goto Variants tab,

If your using internal Variants, Click on the Variants Maintainance

Wizard as below

Specify your test data container, and select your variants

Then click “attach as variants” as below

To Upload : Edit->Variants->Upload

Make sure that external variants path as yours:

If not you can change the External Variants path Utilities->Settings-

Save your test configuration and execute.

In general tab, Set error behaviour as below.

In UI Control Tab Change the start Mode for Command as below
