Abstract
Menstrual pain is a lower abdominal pain felt during menstruation due
to an increase in prostagladin hormone that causes the uterine muscles to
contract. There is some relaxation to reduce the pain one of them is the
technique of deep breathing relaxation and guided imagery. This study
aims to determine the difference of deep breathing relaxation techniques
and guided imagery to changes in menstrual pain in young women in
SMPN 2 Kec. Dagangan Kab. Madiun. This study included quasy
experiment with design (two groups pre test and post test) did not use
control group. samples of 32 female students were taken by simple random
sampling which was divided into two different treatment groups. The
statistical test used is Mann Whitney Test of unpaired sample. The results
of both groups showed that p value 0.006 <α = 0.05 indicates that there is
a significant difference between the two treatment groups of deep
breathing relaxation technique and guided imagery in the change of pain in
adolescent girls in SMPN 2 Kec. Dagangan Kab. Madiun
