Listen, you may or may not be an
American, but is it any different any-
where else?.
As we look into the life of Abraham,
there’s one thing we need to get
straight — he knew God’s voice.
Whether God called Abraham to
leave his homeland and go on a road
trip without a destination in sight,
or God was calling him to sacrifice
his son, Isaac, Abraham knew God’s
voice.
Abraham didn’t always listen to God’s
voice and he didn’t always ask God
to lead. In this way Abraham showed
his humanity and was very much like
many of us. When God spoke, howev-
er, Abraham listened and responded
in faith. How is your faith? If God
called you, would you recognize His
voice?
If you have the faith Abraham had,
you are one of Abraham’s descen-
dants and the promises God made to
him are made to you!
Romans 10:17 says faith comes by
hearing and hearing by the word of
God. When you get to know God and
His word, you’ll know when you hear
His voice. God will not ask you to do
something inconsistent with His previ-
ous testimony. We have much to learn
from biblical characters like Abraham!
May God give us a “closer walk” as
we continue in this series of sermons!
