 Use must and should in composing clear and coherent sentences.

PROCEDURES Materials
1. ENGAGE ( 5 minutes)

 A. Motivation- Let the class watch a story in a multimedia.

 B. Drill – Reading with automaticity grade level frequently


occurring content area words. Words or Phrases from the story
watched.

2. EXPLAIN (10 minutes)

A. Modelling- The teacher explains the new topic of the day.


Then, gives sentences using the modals.

B. Guided Practice (Individual)- Teacher calls volunteers to


do the guided activity.

C. Discussion- teacher clarifies ideas.

3. EXPLORE (15 minutes)

A. –The teacher groups the class into 4 and assigns differentiated


tasks.

B. –Reminding of Do’s and Don’ts during the activity.

C. –Presenting the Rubrics before the start of the activity.


• Group I - choral reading
• Group II - broadcasting
• Group III - role play (teacher-student)
• Group IV - rap

 Presentation of Output after 10 minutes.

 Checking of output should be done every after presentation of


each group.

4. ELABORATE (5 minutes

 Generalization: 3-5 minutes

• What verb cannot be used without any other verb?

• What modals have you learned from today’s lesson? Can you use them
in a sentence?

5. EVALUATE (_10___minutes)
