Title: Evaluation System Of School Student Activities

Introduction:

The School’s holds various activities for its students to enjoy as well as to learn

something new, but regardless of the wellness of the activity, the school wants to better each

aspect of each activity held inside and outside of school premises.

With the use of traditional tools, the pen and paper, the College of the Immaculate

Concepcion requests its students to partake in evaluating each activity for the school to assess in

which aspect of the activity they can make better.

The evaluation system would make the evaluation of each activity much more efficient in

a way that would make activities better.

Statement of the Problem:

 The Office of the Student Affairs (OSA) is suffering from heavy workload and

paperwork in order to distribute the evaluation sheets. The collation of answers

from the students, and the compilation of the comments and suggestions from the

students are the main problems the said office in terms of evaluating their events,

programs and activities.

 The OSA wants to take an initiative in improving the school activities they are

offering, but it has been struggling about it due to data collection using the

traditional pen and paper method. They are looking for an alternative to provide

the answer they need in lieu of evaluating their programs.

Scope And Delimitation

The system is a web application entitled “Evaluation System Of School Student Activities

” It is a web application that would use programming languages such as HTML and CSS

for the front-end of the program, PHP, JavaScript, jQuery and MySQL for handling the back-end

of the program.

It will be used by the students and the Office of Student Affairs for evaluating the school

activities. The system will be designated for OSA. The researchers aimed to develop this system

from December 2018 to February 2019.

The research project was limited to the students of the Shool, the Office of Student

Affairs and inside the school premises only.

The research would feature functions such as a network-based evaluation system where

the web application would be put in a server which would run the XAMPP server. The web

application would not use any internet at all.

Definition Of Terms

PHP is a Hypertext Preprocessor which is a popular general-purpose scripting language

that is especially suited to web development.

jQuery refers to a JavaScript library that simplifies its functionality.

JavaScript is an object-oriented computer programming language commonly used to

create interactive effects within web browsers.

 MySQL is a freely available open source Relational Database Management System

(RDBMS) that uses Structured Query Language (SQL).

Database is a structured set of data held in a computer, especially one that is accessible

in various ways.

Data are facts and statistics collected together for reference or analysis.

Dynamic Web Pages is also known as web pages that require back-end functionality.

Static Web Pages refers to web pages that do not require back-end functionality.

Front-End manages everything that users visually see first in their browser or

application. Front end developers are responsible for the look and feel of a site.

Back-End refers to the server side of an application and everything that communicates

between the database and the browser.

OSA Office of Students Affairs is the office responsible for handling the College of the

Immaculate Concepcion’s School Activity Evaluation Program.

Methodology

Research Methodology

Agile is a flexible and reliable way of software development model. Agile is the most

used method in software development nowadays and it is better than waterfall. It is a very

empowering process that helps teams provide quick and unpredictable responses to the feedback

they receive on their project and it helps also the companies design and build the right product.
Conclusion

Based on the results of the evaluation of the system developed, it is concluded that the

evaluation system of student activities was agreed upon by users and that it can reduce the

workload of the Office of the Student Affairs. The system can also lessen the paper works and

paper used during the evaluation of the activities.

The evaluation system modernizes the way that the Office of the Student Affairs

evaluates the activities of the school. By replacing the traditional pen and paper method, the

system can easily help collect and compile the data collected.

Recommendation

Based on the results of the study and the suggestions to the researchers, here are the

following recommendations for future developers and researchers for further improvement of

this project:

1. Create the system online;

2. Make the system compatible with mobile devices;

3. Add a feature that can make many database;

4. Add a feature that can track the identity of the students;

5. Notification to dean, VPAA that activity has been evaluated;

6. Multiple question of codes;

Problem

 This School Evaluation System for Student Activities can easily print out the results of

the survey;

 It will reduce the workload of the members of the CSSC by way of conducting surveys.
