Mechanical Engineering Department

The Teaching Assistantship (TA category) candidates who have applied for admission in the M.Tech programme
in the  academic unit Mechanical Engineering Department and having GATE score as mentioned below  who are
eligible for appearing “on the spot admission” on  _16.07.2019_ against vacant seats.

   0 pm by Academic Office.

The   Post  Graduate   Admissions   Committee   of   the  Institute  has   decided   that  during   spot   admission   inter­
department movement/shift will not be permitted.  However after joining, change of specializations within
the department are permitted subject to availability of seats and satisfying the required criteria for  that
specialization.

The procedure to be followed is as follows:

1.  Report on 16.07.2019 at LA-001, (New Lecture Hall Complex), at 8:30 a.m.

(Candidates reporting later than 9:00 a.m. will not be considered for Spot admission)

2.  The candidates are required to be present in person and no representatives of the candidates will be   permitted
     to participate in the admissions procedure.

3.   The candidate shall submit.
1.   Valid GATE score card (original or xerox copy ).
2. Qualifying degree marks sheets and certificate (if results are awaited and they do not have these 
mark­lists or certificate, can submit them later on).

4.   A consolidated merit list will be put up on the same day (16.07.2019).

5.   Those selected will be required to submit  the following admission fees by way of a Demand Draft   in favour

of "Registrar, IIT Bombay", payable at State Bank of India/Canara Bank, IIT Powai branch/ Mumbai branch
along with photocopy of GATE score card. Write their Name, GATE Reg. No., Department, Category, Offered
Specialisation  on the reverse side of Demand Draft. 

              The demand draft is to be submitted on the same day 16.07.2019

6.   Those candidates wishing to cancel/withdraw admission after paying the requisite fees MUST  communicate
the same by an email given in the application form to  pgadm@iitb.ac.in
   /umesh.mejari@iitb.ac.in  stating
subject“   CANCELLATION   OF   SPOT   ADMISSION)”    by   specifying   the   department/specialization   and
application ID.

E­mail regarding cancellation/withdrawal of admission will be entertained,  ONLY IF,  the request is made

through E­mail ID given in the Application form.

In such cases, cancellation/withdrawal, only refundable deposits of    2,000/­ or  3000/­ (plus the hostel

fees paid,  if any), will be refunded.   The refund will be send to the respective candidate's Bank account
(through which they have debited/paid the admission fees) by NEFT within ONE month  time from receipt
of such e­mail/ request, after verifying the details.
