kebahasaan tentang passive voice lisan dan tulis, terkait isu aktual.
4.5.2 Menyusun passive voice, terkait isu aktual, dengan memperhatikan fungsi sosial, struktur

Kata kerja be (is/ am/ are/ was/ were) dan verb 3rd form, tata bahasa, ucapan, tekanan kata,
intonasi, ejaan, tanda baca.

3. Contoh teks ilmiah tertulis lain yang terkait dengan passive voice:
Harvesting machines
Headers harvest crops such as wheat, barley and oats. These machines are also known as
combine harvesters. Headers combine the three operations needed to harvest a crop – reaping,
threshing and winnowing.
The comb on the front of the header cuts the heads off the stalks (reaping). The auger pulls
the heads into the machine. The stalks left standing in the paddock are called stubble.
Threshing involves separating the grains from the head. The drum rotates, beating the heads.
Straw and chaff (bits of stalk) are fed out the back of the header. Straw is spread over the ground.
Stock can graze on this and the standing stubble left after harves.
There are a number of screens in the header. Grain passes over these and fans blow the
husks away. This is called winnowing. The clean grain is stored in the box. When this is full the
grain is augured out into a chaser bin or truck.

Report Text
Definition of Report Text
Report is a text which present information about something, as it is. It is as a result of systematic
observation and analyses.
Generic Structure
General Clasification; Pernyataan umum yang menerangkan subjek laporan, keterangan, dan
klasifikasinya.
Description: tells what the phenomenon under discussion ; in terms of parts, qualities, habits or
behaviors.
Social Function
Its social purpose is presenting information about something. They generally describe an entire
class of things, whether natural or made: mammals, the planets, rocks, plants, countries of region,
culture, transportation, and so on.
Language Features
Use of general nouns, eg hunting dogs, rather than particular nouns, eg our dog;
Use of relating verbs to describe features, eg Molecules are tiny particles;
Some use of action verbs when describing behaviour, eg Emus cannot fly;
Use of timeless present tense to indicate usualness, eg Tropical cyclones always begin over the
sea;
Use of technical terms, eg Isobars are lines drawn on a weather map;
Use of paragraphs with topic sentences to organise bundles of information; repeated naming of
the topic as the beginning focus of the clause.

SCHOOL
School is a building for children who want to study. School is an institution for formal education and designed
for the teaching of students or pupils under the supervision from the educators or teachers. At school,
students can learn anything, for example, mathematics, English, science, social, physics, biology, and art.
Students go to school in the morning and start their lessons at 07.30 o’clock. They have ninety minutes for
every subject that they studied. At school, students can interact with their friend, make relationship and
students are also educated to become a better person and expected to have a good personality. A student
may not come late or truant the school. If students do those things it can be assumed as an offense and
students can be punished.
There are so many rules at school that cannot be broken and must be followed by all students. School
usually have many classrooms. Besides that, there are library, mosque, and canteen for lunch, teacher’s
office, field for sports and etc. School has to be a comfort and pleasure place for students because students
will spend most of their time at school.
