BARANGAY PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER OF ____________________________

WHEREAS, the right of the people to information on matters of public concerns is enshrined in the
Philippine Constitution recognizing the fundamental role of free and open exchange of information in a
democracy;

WHEREAS, the access to and exchange of information is extremely crucial in our society today as we
deal with the extensive use of media in obtaining and utilizing news materials from every reliable
source;

WHEREAS, we have to face the changes in journalism as everyone is able to report and post in the
internet just about anything;

WHEREAS, Pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2017-165, all Local Chief executives are
enjoined to support the training on journalism or reporting for responsible individuals to be able to
extensively use the social media in information sharing and gathering by the local government units;

NOW THEREFORE, I, ________________, Punong Barangay of ____________ Subic, Zambales by virtue

of power vested in me by law hereby designate Mr./Ms. ________________ as the Barangay Public
Information Officer.
