Having worked within a town centre pharmacy for the past 5 years Ipossess
an extensive experience of drug and alcohol treatment services. For
example, we currently provide methadone and subutex therapy
prescriptions, sourced by the local treatment provider to 80+ clients from
the St Helens area on a daily basis. Furthermore, we provide a Syringe
Exchange Program available to those who need it. I firmly believe that having
the largest client base of substance misusers in St Helens has enabled me to
acquire knowledge and vital experience of the issues clients face on a daily
basis, and the challenges they face during the recovery process. Part of a
100 hour pharmacy attached to the local walk in Centre, I understand the
need to deliver the highest standards of health care to the community,
helping to maintain their health and well-being. As a result of delivering this
service, I understand the importance of recording and securely storing
patient information, as I kept detailed records including Medicine Use
Reviews and the New Medicine Service. Total and complete patient
confidentiality was maintained throughout. In order to ensure the delivery
of the highest standards of service to all patients, it is essential that the
pharmacy team work closely together, maximising good customer service,
as well as improving efficiency. The pharmacy is attached to the walk in
centre, and subsequently we work regularly with distressed, vulnerable and
anxious adults and children. Some of them therefore can occasionally
present us with difficult behavior, which sometimes requires the situation to
be dealt with in a calm and controlled manner. On occasion we have had to
identify situations that need to be escalated to the appropriate authorities to
safeguard our more vulnerable customers. In order to further expand my
role, I have also taken responsibility for the back office organisation. I liaise
daily with a variety of health and other care professionals, including GP's,
hostels, drug treatment facilities and prison services. I ensure that all
electronic records are input and maintained so that we are able to respond
accurately and appropriately to information requests from other professional
bodies that are involved with our customers.
Vaccinations
Many of the job roles within CRI involve employees and sessional staff working with various service users
and clients, therefore depending on the job role vaccinations for various illnesses are recommended.
Declaration
To my knowledge the information above is correct. I understand that if I am appointed and this information
is found to be inaccurate this may affect my continued employment with CRI.
