TCET-Projections of Lines –Class work/Home work Problems

1. A line PQ of length 60mm is inclined at 300 to HP and 450 to VP. The Point P is 20mm above HP and
30mm in front of VP. Draw its projections.

2. A line AB 70 mm long has its ends A 10mm above the HP & 15 mm in front of VP. Draw the
projection of line AB if it’s another end B is 45mm above the HP and 60mm in front of the VP. Find
the inclination with HP & VP.

3. The DBEP of a straight line AB is 35 mm .The end A is 10mm above the HP & 20 mm in front of the
VP. While end B is 45mm above the HP and 70 mm In front of VP. Draw the Projections of line and
find its true length.

4. The distance between end projectors of line AB is 60 mm. Its end A is 25 m above HP and 45 mm in
front of VP. While other end B is 60 mm above HP and 15mm in front of VP. Draw its projection and
find its true length and also inclination of line with HP & VP. [May 2016]

5. The distance between end projectors of line AB is 40 mm. It sends A is 15 mm above HP and 20
mm in front of VP. The line is inclined 30° to HP. Draw the projection if true length of line is 80 mm.
Find the inclination of line with VP. Take end point B in first quadrant. [Dec 2014]

6. TV & FV of a line 70 mm long measure 55 mm & 60 mm respectively. Draw its projection if end A is
15 m above HP and 20 mm in front of VP. Determine its inclination with HP & VP. [May 2013]

7. TV & FV of a line AB is 70 mm & 80 mm respectively. Its end A is 15 mm above HP and 20 mm in

front of VP. The end B is in third quadrant. Draw the projection if line is 100 mm long. Also find its
inclination with principal plane. [May 2014]

8. The TV of a line PQ (true length 90 mm) is inclined at 50° to XY while the line is inclined 30 to VP.
The end P is 10 mm in front of VP, 20 mm above HP and end Q is in fourth quadrant. Draw its
projection. Determine true inclination of line with HP.

9. A line AB 70 mm long has it send A is 10 mm above HP and 20 mm in front of VP. The line AB is
inclined 40° to HP and its front view is inclined 650 to XY. Draw its projection and find inclination of
AB with VP.

10. The line PQ 100 mm long, is inclined at 30° to the H.P. and at 45° to the V.P. Its mid-point is in the
V.P. and 20 mm above the HP. Draw the projections, if its end P is in the third quadrant and Q in the
first quadrant.

11. Draw the projections of a line AB 90 mm long. Its midpoint M being 50 mm above the H.P and 40
mm in front of the V.P. The end A is 20 mm above the H.P. and 10 mm in front of the V.P. Show the
inclinations of the line with H.P. and the V.P.

12. Side View of a line AB 75 mm long makes an angle of 40° with xy line. Draw TV and FV of line
when length of side view is 50 mm. Take point A to be 15 mm above HP and 55 mm in front of VP the
point B being closet to VP. (8) [Dec 2009]
