It was my 1st day, I went directly Bar Hall No: 05 where my senior lawyer Anjon
Dey chair was situated. I was there at 12:30 am, he wasn’t in his chair. I asked
another lawyer about where my senior lawyer was and he told me that my
senior had already went to the court room. So I decided to wait for him, and at
around 1:45pm he came back to his chair. I introduced myself to him and he
asked me to have a seat. As it was my 1st day, we only discussed about me and
my family as he knows my family very well. Once we were done, he offered me
to have lunch with him. I happily agreed and it was a nice lunch. After finishing
lunch he told me to follow him to his president office, which was situated at
Bar Hall No: 02, on the 1st floor. There were many other lawyers there as well.
After a few moments some students from my batch came to see the Bar
President. He offered all of them to have tea. Around 4:00 pm he told me to go
back home and also told me to come back tomorrow before 10:30 am. I gave
him my salaam and went back home.

On day two I was on time (before 10:20). After entering my senior’s office I
saw him in his chair discussing stuff with his clients. At 10:30 am I went with
my senior to the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate. We went there to help
another lawyer about bail hearing. At 11:00am I went with him to the court of
Senior Judicial Magistrate Court-2, he also was there to help another lawyer for
the hearing of a bail where the accused was in custody, the case no: G.R.
126/18. At 11:20am we went to the court of Judicial Magistrate Court-1, I
witnessed a bail hearing of my senior lawyer where the bail was not granted,
case number was G.R. 175/18, and the case was under section 326/307/34 of
Penal Code.1860, the name of the Plaintiff:- Selina Begum (51) and the
Accused:-Md. Jamil Ahmed (22) and 3 unnamed person. After that bail hearing
went to the Court of Judicial Magistrate Court-5 at 12:00 pm, we waited there
for a very long time to come our turn, here I saw a cross-examination of a
witness, which I found very interesting. At 1:30 pm we went back to Bar Hall
no: 05 and have some snacks. At 2:00 pm he told me to get back to my home.

It was 3rd day with my senior, I was in his office at 10:00 pm but my senior
came at 10:15 am. We had tea together and at 10:50 me and my senior went
to the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Court-3, at 11:30 my senior had a bail
hearing on surrender, the bail petition is given bellow:

My senior stated some valid reason why the accused petitioner should get the
bail, the court accepted the bail petition and granted the bail.
The fact of the case:
The case is under section 323/324/325/307 of Penal Code
The accused person of this case was a man and his wife. They were both
addicted, and were always high on drugs. He always used to come to his
mother for money and abused her when she did not provide him with it. The
mother had tolerated him for a long time but after getting beaten up by her
drunken son she decided to file a case against him.
Then at 11:45 am we went to the court of Judicial Magistrate Court-2 for a case
between State v Md. Jamil Ahmed case no: 05/18. My senior submit a closing
argument by requesting acquittal of the accused.
After that, all trial were suspended on that day due to the death of a senior
advocate Md. Moiz Uddin sir. At 12:30 the lawyer association organised a
prayer ceremony for him at District and Sessions Judge court which is called
full court reference and I got the chance to attend this ceremony. On this
programme my senior lawyer gave a short brief about him and his work life.
Later all the lawyers prayed for him and at that moment I was barely able to
control my emotions. I prayed for him to Allah and also prayed that may Allah
give his family strength to bear this pain.

At 10:15 am I arrived at the office of my senior, I saw my senior was talking
with a client, he told me to take a seat. I was listening to them very carefully.
The client was saying he wants to compromise the matter. I saw a deed for the
compromise upon a stamp of 100tk. At 11:00 am me and my senior went to
the court of Judicial Magistrate Court-1 for the hearing of that deed and the
court gave a further date for hearing. At 11:50 am we went to the court of
Joint Metropolitan Judge Court-1 and my senior was there to help another
lawyer for a bail petition. The case was about a student who was in custody for
7 months, the bail was granted.
At 12:30 we went back to Bar Hall no: 05, at the same time few lawyers and
secretary of Bar Association came to meet him. Then I had some snacks with
them and had fun chat. Around 02:00 pm I went back to my home.

On 5th day I felt a little bit more comfortable with court work. I arrived at 10
am to my senior’s office. I have tea with him. At 10:50 am we went to the court
of Special Judge Court as the court didn’t start at 11:00 am we went to the
court of District Session Judge Court for a bail petition of the case State V
Saifur Rahman and Samsul Islam Samsu case no 950/18, where the accused
was in custody. The case was under section 420/406 of Penal Code. The Bail
was granted. After that we went to the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate-1
regarding the case State V Sumon Ahmed , case no : Gulapganj G.R. 120/18.
My senior was on behalf of accused party. The case was about MADOK
DROBBO NIONTRON AIN 1990 under section 19(1). On this case I found out
that police seized the private car ( Dhaka -Metro -GHA-26-3483) because they
found drug on this car. On that day my senior file an application for get back
the custody of car on behalf of owner.
After that at 12:30 I went to additional district and session judge-3,court with
my senior for MONEY LAUNDERING CASE.

On my 6th day I arrived court at 10:15 am in the morning. I went to my senior’s
cabin after my arrival and found out that my senior was talking with a client
and after hearing their discussion, I understood that they were talking about
compromising. When my senior finished his discussion with the client he asked
me if I know anything about Criminal Revision and when I replied in that I
don’t, he discussed this topic with me and told me that today he has a case
about criminal revision. After that I went to district and session judge court
with my senior. There was a case of Criminal Revision, Case no. 208/18 the
Revision was filed by Sojol Chondro Das from the case of Sajol Chondro Das Vs
Sujon Das .case no: Golapgonj G.R 109/2014, the reason for the Revision was
that the court without hearing all important witnesses fixed a date for
judgment.At 2pm after having lunch with him I came back my home.

This was my last day in the court. I went exactly on time at 10 am. My senior
lawyer arrived at 10:20 am. After all the greetings I went to the court of
Judicial Magistrate-1, with him for a case filing. Case is Given bellow-

After the case we arrived at our senior’s office. He asked me how my overall
experience was, and I replied about it being a very exciting and valuable
experience. I expressed my gratitude to him and left to go home. I will miss
these last seven days a lot.
