College Research Reflection

1. List the campuses you plan on applying to or have already applied to. Highlight the three
most important criteria you used in determining where to apply.
National University in La Jolla and Grossmont College in El Cajon are two colleges to which I
plan to apply. The three most important criteria for my colleges are location, size, and fees.

2. Which campus is the one you would most like to attend? Explain why this campus is your
first choice compared to the others.
Grossmont College is my first choice because it is the closest, and the fees are not too high.

3. What will be your intended education goal? How does this goal relate to your chosen
career? What resources do these campuses have to support you in this career field?
My intended goal is to graduate with a degree and find a high-paying job. This goal relates
to my career because a manager is a top position with a high pay. This campus has the
degree and convenience of time and location.

4. How do the costs of attendance compare at each campus? How do you plan to cover the
costs of attendance if you are accepted?
The costs are lower at Grossmont compared to other colleges I have researched. I plan to
cover these expenses by finding a job and paying for college on my own.

5. Do you plan on transferring to a four year college? If so, which campuses are you interested
in transferring to?
I do not plan on transferring to a 4-year, but plans do change.

6. Are there transfer agreements available? If so, which agreements do you plan to use to
successfully transfer? What are the requirements of these agreements?
Grossmont offers a TAG Associate’s degree to transfer. For this degree, you must have a
specific GPA in community college, but with that GPA, you could be guaranteed admission
to a four year college.

7. Which classes are transferable from the community college you plan to attend to the
campus you plan to transfer to? Are there classes that will not transfer?
Some classes that are transferable are, Criminology and Police Organization and
Administration. There are a few classes that are non-transferable. A couple are Criminal
Law, Juvenile Justice, and Community Policing.
