REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS
1) Pressure : 0.2 Bar- 5 bar (maximum static pressure 10bar)
2) Pipe Line : Inlets and outlets to be made 3/4”BSP/20mm
3) Temperature : Hot water (60-65 degree centigrade)
Maximum hot water 80 degree centigrade
cold water (ambient water temperature)
NOTE:
This product should only be fitted by a qualified/certified plumber and should not
installed by a non-qualified person or else guarantee may be considered invalid.
For a claim made under our warranty, written certification of your installers can be
required. For further information ask JAQUAR GROUP.
1) Pressure should be balanced at both hot and cold inlets and pressure variation in
both lines must not be more than 1 bar.
2) If installing a pressure pump always install the pump before the shower valve.

Aquamax thermostatic shower mixer comes with default 38° ± 1 Celsius. The safety lock
on the handle ensures the person not getting burned even due to an accident, since to
attain a temperature greater than 38°C, the safety lock has to be pressed and the handle
turned anti-clockwise simultaneously.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
PRE–INSTALLATION
1) Separate all the contents from the packaging and inspect the product for transport
damages. After it has been installed, no transport or surface damage will be honored.
2) Ensure thorough cleaning of all lines before start installation procedure, entry of any
foreign particle (dirt, debris, etc.) may damage the product.
3) Inlets and outlets lines to be made 3/4”BSP/20 mm and should be balanced for
optimum results.
4) Remember to turn off the water supply before connecting to any existing pipeline.
Warning! Please check for any hidden pipes and cables before drilling holes in the
wall.
5) Ensure sufficient space to be left inside the wall withing marking of minimum and
maximum on the plastic protective cover for the ease of installation of concealed
body as well as exposed parts .
6) Place the thermostatic concealed body with plastic protective covers in the wall
recess such that it lies perpendicular to the base. Please make sure that the plastic
protective covers must remain on body until all masonry/finish work to be done.

7) Jaquar advise you to install at least 2 “Y STRAINER” in the main supply line, coming
from overhead tank. Please make sure that “Y STRAINER” have to be placed, where it
can be easily accessed for cleaning.

INSTALLATION (COMPLETE)
1) Stop the water supply before proceeding with the installation procedure.
2) Put the concealed thermostat body onto the wall and mark the position of the fixing
lugs.
3) Make sure the valve is set back from the front face of the wall within given minimum
and maximum depth to allow for plasterboard, tiling and filling etc.
4) Drill the holes and mount concealed thermostat body to the wall using suitable
fixings.
5) Connect the inlet and outlet properly with concealed body packed in plastic
protective covering & tighten it firmly.
6) After completion ensure thorough cleaning of the outlets with water so as to remove
any possible debris stuck in it after masonry work.
7) Now take off the plastic protective cover and fit the exposed parts carefully.

8) Slide the wall flange carefully and tighten both handles with screws. Operate the
handles and check for proper functioning.
Special care has to be taken when you fix it on to the concealed body because if it placed
wrongly it may lead to improper mixing of water.
Tighten the cartridge in to the concealed body with the help of spanner.
Check for the black marking on the cartridge and align the adapter with marking.
Slide the sleeve on to the body carefully while checking the o-ring on the body as
shown in the figure below.
Now place the handle with safety lock such that it locks at 38°C and tighten it with
screw.

After a long time usage of thermostatic valve, there will be some waste debris from the
water pipe on and around the control cock or thermostatic cartridge, which will affect the
flow and sensitivity of automatically temperature adjustment.
1) Pull out the thermostatic cartridge. Wash it with clean running water, dry and lightly
grease the seals (only use silicone grease).
2) Put back the thermostatic cartridge. Check the above assembly picture of
thermostatic cartridge, then tighten it in the concealed body.
NOTE:
1) ENSURE INSTALLING THE CONCEALED BODY PERPENDICULAR TO THE BASE FOR
CORRECT FIXATION OF WALL FLANGE CHECK WITH THE HELP OF A LEVELER.
2) In ALD-683/ALD-683E cartridge also has a special function that allows two water
flows simultaneously, this is useful in case of a shower. When a person needs to
function 2 outlets together. As described below:

When the knob points on ‘OFF’ position marked, there is no water supply from
outlets.
When the knob points at position marked “I”, “II” or “III” water will flow from outlet
line “I”, “II” or “III” respectively..
When the knob points in between any of the above two positions marked water will
flow through both respective outlets
Your product has a good quality finish and should be treated with care to preserve the
visible surfaces. All finishes will wear if not cleaned properly. Following the below guidelines
may be helpful in preserving the look of your newly acquired faucet.
1) Don’t use abrasives, acids, alcohols & others harsh substances for cleaning faucet
instead "GLITZ" may be used. For process to use “GLITZ” please contact Jaquar’s
customer care.
2) The other safe way to clean your product is to wipe with a soft damp cloth.
