De Gio Cuon Di (Let the wind blow ) - Trinh Cong Son (1939-2001)

Musician Trinh Cong Son (February 28, 1939 - January 1, 2001) is one of the most

successful and famous musicians in the Vietnamese music scene. He is also a famous writer,

poet, and artist. Most of his songs are love songs, others are anti-war songs written during the

Vietnam War. When referring to him, one can name some famous songs such as "Ballad to the

dead", "Remembering the sea", "Sand and dust", or "Mother's fortune".

Musician Trinh Cong Son wrote, "Let the wind blow away". Trinh Cong Son is one of the

Buddhist musicians, using simple words, describing Buddhist philosophy. This is the art of

bringing Buddhist philosophy to life in the language of music. He is a talented musician with a

position worthy of Vietnamese music. His music was listened to by all the members, whether

Christian, Muslim, Caodaism, Hoahaoism ... The music of Buddhism in Buddhism was too little,

not considered by the musicians as a key to can help music lovers come to Buddhism.

In the song "Let the wind blow away", there is a "Taoism" that is integrated into the

music. There are clear sentences, passages, and Buddhist philosophical ideas that are clear. There

are verses that express the musician's despair and his painful look in some way and forget all the

other aspects. The obsession of the pain of the author directly infused the throbbing pain of the

listener, becoming a hundred times more painful.

Just starting the song is a rhetorical question of the author:"Living in life needs a

heart,Do what you know?“. And the author answered immediately after that: "Let the wind blow

away, let the wind blow away, let the wind blow away.” The author repeats up to 3 times "to let

the wind blow away" as if he wants the kindness in every listener to go farther, closer to those

who need help. Each of us wants to do a lot of good things to help people around us, but we
often wait for someone else to shout and cheer before we start. But the author uses the wind to

blow away goodness, as an invisible thing, or simply wants that we go to ourselves, knock on the

places that really need us. The author has shown the true spirit of Buddhism, get out of your safe

place, where you practice without waiting to be called.

In the spirit of Buddhism, in this life, there are many painful things and we have to fight

them until we die. But when we spread our hearts and do good things to others, we will reduce

the suffering we encounter in life. The effect of selflessness in charitable deeds is always great.

Trịnh Công Sơn said: "The wind swept away to the clouds through the river. The day just went

up or night was immense.". The image of the cloud flying through the river as an interesting

symbolic image, we show our kindness to others without expecting repayment, because the

report will lose the pure beauty of kindness.

But can we do good things without any response? This question becomes a concern in the

hearts of the author: "Oh my heart is flying with time, making the shadow speak of lies."

Sometimes, all we do is follow the goodness of the heart. but it can do but others envy or

enlighten the lie, worsen the image. Can we continue to deliver our kindness everywhere or be

affected by the lies?

In the next verse, we feel a little depressed, sad in the author: "When the next afternoon

needs a laugh to pity according to the flying leaves. Then the water swept away. Then swept

away.". During a long day, we can participate in all activities during the day, but when the

afternoon comes, when we are alone, all the things we hope for are a laugh. How lonely is that!
Next, the author was humble but leaned down to look down into the heart into his own

heart. "Lean down and look through a love affair. Let’s contemplate in wordless silence, to feel

the crushing pain of the heart, to feel the crushing pain in the heart. ”

Please lean down and look at the inside of each of us, don't say anything, be quiet and we will

see why our interactions are broken. Not only that, but the author also wants to embrace this pain

in his heart, make his heart colder, we see the author has a negative tendency to torment himself

with his heart. What is the author's heart: "In the heart, the bird is in pain. Long-term sleep

carries a melancholy wound. ". The bird is an interesting symbolic image, be a bird, it must be

flexible and fly everywhere, but this bird lies still with the wound on him. The bird seems to die

slowly over the years inside the author's heart. This image is like a painful wound as well as a

sense of impasse with no way out of the listener's heart but suddenly comes in the next verse: "

An early morning bird flew away constantly, and the song echoed in the wind and sky. The verse

is like giving bright hope to the hearts that are suffering in loneliness and unhappiness. The

image of a bird flying forever makes us feel a brighter life, there are still hopes that will change,

or lessen the pain, of unhappy lives.

The last sentence of the song is even more agitated: "Love the next day even if you are

too tired. And my life is happy, no matter who is absent, no one is absent." In life, when we get

older In addition, there are people who will die before us, but we must also continue to live in

order to fulfill the desires of the deceased.

This song stands out at the beginning and end of the song because according to the

Buddhist concept, there is a good start, there will definitely be a good ending. The middle part of

the song is a little sad, depressed and desperate, but it all adds to the good ending of the song.

English Lyric

To live one’s life Let’s view life from a different side

One needs a heart And look through this love affair

To what end, do you know, my love? Let’s contemplate in wordless silence

To cast into the wind To feel the crushing pain of the heart

To cast into the wind To feel the crushing pain in the heart

The wind blows and clouds ride over the In the heart, an injured bird lies still

river Forever sleeping with its deep deep

As day rises or evening falls in its wound

vastness One morning, it flies away on an unending

The heart drifts away as time passes trip

A shadow propagating words of lies And its calls melt into the rising wind

When evening falls Let’s love the days to come

One needs laughter Though so tired of our human lot

To contemplate with the falling leaves Let’s enjoy life as it remains

Floating away in flowing water Though someone is absent

Floating away in flowing water Though someone is absent
