I.1 BACKGROUND

There are plenty of technology innovations that have been made by engineers and
scientists in this decade. To be one of them, some particular skills are needed, such as
professionalism and be an open-minded person. It is obviously derived from the college
environment, before getting the title and become as a graduate student. In addition, a
graduate student should improve his/her skill and have a good social communication with
others. Social and culture environment and lifestyle of professional workers must be
understood, because things that we’ve learned and studied in University sometimes are not
same with the real fact we will find in the field.
With internship program, college students can get the chance to observe, compare, and
apply the theories they have learned in the University. Also, they could get more knowledge
and also to solve a problem in corresponding industry. In the other hand, for a company,
internship could be an event to search for new human resources and an event to evaluate the
quality of graduate student. Based on the ideas above, we wont to apply internship program
to your company, and we hope that you will accept our proposal. We are sure that we will
get the benefits from this internship program we propose.

I.2 PURPOSE
The objectives of this practical work program :
1. To have an experience and a wider knowledge about the Metal Forming, welding, bonding
composite and surface treatment.
2. To understand and to get used to the working environment.
3. To fulfill a requirement to graduate from Materials and Metallurgical Engineering
Departement of Bandung Institute of Technology and Science.

4. To get the chance to observe, to compare, and to apply theories from University lectures
in industry. In order to inform the company about the activities that well hope can be
achieved during the internship program, here we describe some important ideas to be noted.
