General Rules
General Rules Governing Assessments
1. All references must be in APA style in conformance with the standards and guidelines as situplate in the
following website http://www.bibme.org/citation-guide/apa/ . All materials cited must be taken from
credible sources.
2. Plagiarism, copying and cheating may result in your case being referred to the Disciplinary Committee
of the College.
3. The first page of all assignments must be the cover page as made available on the student portal.
4. Written assignment should be as per the style guide made available in the student portal.
5. ALL assignments must be submitted into the designated folder for submission on Google Classroom
UNLESS:-
a. The output of your assignment falls into the following categories

v. Posters
vi. Other similar materials
For the above cases students are required to submit a photo of their assignment to the Google
Classroom Folder and handover the physical work to the lecturer as instructed.
6. If an extension on assignment is granted, the approved extension grant number must be stated on the
cover-sheet in the designated box.
7. Evaluation of the assignment will be as stipulated on page 1 of this Module Assessment Brief.
8. All written assignments must confirm to the similarity threshold as stipulated on page 1 of this
assessment brief. Assignments that are found to be beyond the stipulated threshold will be rejected
and students will be required to re-submit accordingly.
9. Avid College Practices ZERO TOLERANCE towards plagiarism and copying. Students found

working days prior to the deadline stipulated on page 1. The said form will be made available on the
student portal. Should an extension be granted, you are required to input the grant serial number on
assessment cover page.
11. The college will accept your assignments with a penalty of 5% marks each day for a maximum period

of 15 days after the deadline as stipulate on page 1 of this brief.
12. Students surpassing 15 days will be required to apply Reassessment Request Form and if approved
will be given a different assignment question to be completed within 15 days and a penalty of capping
the total marks at 50%.
13. Ensure that you meet 80% of the ATTENDANCE to complete each module assessment. Should you
fail to meet the required attendance, you will be barred from the examination and will be required to
remodule. Students will NOT be given individual classes outside the set schedule to cover the
minimum required attendance.
14. If your assessment involves a QUIZ, this will be treated as a mini exam whereby you will be required
to follow general rules of examination. Should you be absent for the Quiz with an acceptable reason,
you are advised to submit the Reassessment Request Form student portal together with
documentary evidence.
15. If your assessment involves PRESENTATION, you will be given a time schedule to attend the
presentation. You are advised to be 10 minutes early for the presentation time, however, if you are
late more than 15 minutes of your allotted time without informing the programme coordinator you will
be required to submit the Reassessment Request Form in the student portal. If you are not able to
attend as allotted, the student must notify the programme coordinator in writing 1 day prior to the
scheduled time slot.

12. Follow the instruction from the invigilators read the questions carefully before answering.
13. Should a student fail an examination, you are required to fill Reassessment Request Form and check
for approval prior to the designated resit period.
14. All Resit Examinations will be scheduled during week 2 of the subsequent semesters. Should you fail
to attend this resit examination due to acceptable reasons another resit examination will be scheduled
during the Final Examination period of the subsequent semester.
a. Should you sit and fail for the module during any of the resit examinations you will be required
to Remodule when the module is next offered.
b. If you fail to submit the Reassessment Form within 14 days of the release of Final Examination
results, you will be required to Remodule when the module is next offered.
c. All marks will capped at 50% for the resit attempt
15. After the final tabulation of the marks if a student FAILS to achieve more than 35% of the total, the
student will be required to Remodule when the module is next offered.
16. Should fail to report to the Final Examination as per the schedule you are required to submit the
Reassessment Request Form.
