INTRODUCTION
Every school year, there are numerous of cases in which the students are involved in an
accident or a medical emergency. According to the Article 218, Family Code of the Philippines
(FCP), the school, its administrators and teachers, or the individual, entity or institution engaged
in child care have special potential authority and responsibility over the minor while under their
supervision, instruction or custody. This only means that the school is also liable for every
child’s safety.
Moreover, it is the school clinic that holds a great portion of responsibility in providing a primary
treatment with high quality to each of the students. It is also written in the “School Sanitation and
Health Services” of the code on sanitation of the Philippines (P.D. 856), under 11.3, the School
Health Facilities, is about how a school clinic should be structured, as well as the appropriate
practices that are needed, such as the requirement of having the presence of health personnel
in the school clinic while the class is going on. Therefore, a proper supervision is strongly

schools that only have enough funds to provide these requirements. This issue can greatly
affect the students, especially those who needed immediate assistance but were not treated,
because either there are no available medicines or there’s no one to perform the necessary
treatment.
The purpose of this study is to know the impact of supply service shortage in school clinic on the
well – being of grade ten students in Muzon Harmony Hills High School, school year 2018 –
2019. If the school clinics can still meet the needs of every students despite of the shortage, and
if there is any bad effects not only on the well - being but also to the students’ satisfaction.
