weekend.”

Sundby the new Scotty Soup
Following Friday’s interviews,
Wade Sundby will once again
be roaming the hallways of the
Glasgow school system as he
was the unanimous choice of
the Glasgow School Board to be
the Superintendent, replacing
Bob Connors who took the
superintendent job in Bozeman.
Sundby, a 1994 graduate of
Glasgow High School, earned his Bachelor’s Degree in
Elementary Education from Montana State University-
Havre. He and his wife Brenna then moved to New
Mexico where they taught for a couple of years before
returning back to Montana.
After a couple years of teaching in Hinsdale, a
10-year stint in Absarokee would follow with Sundby
teaching middle school Montana history and geography,
and also coaching football, basketball and track & field.
Sundby was then back on the Hi-Line in Plentywood
where he taught middle school math and coached track
for five years.
Sundby finished earning his Master’s Degree in
Educational Leadership at Rocky Mountain College
in June of 2016 and became the Superintendent of the
Saco School a month later where he has remained until
accepting the superintendent position in Glasgow.
He accepted a 2-year contract for $100,000 per year
in salary. His start date is August 5th which reduces his
2019-2020 contract by $9,615 because he missed five
weeks from the regular July 1st start date.

Northeast Montana Fair’s Rodeo stacked with NFR contenders
While Great Falls tries to boast the best PRCA Rodeo
in Montana, look out, the Northeast Montana Fair has some
bragging rights, not only with the competition, but national
award-winning J Bar J rough stock out of our back yard,
Brockway, Montana.
Once again the big screen will be there, as will a
whopping 322 contestants. Tonight features 17 saddle bronc
riders, 11 bareback riders and 14 bull riders.
We’ve got so many top-ranked cowboys coming in we
won’t even get them all mentioned, as many of them are in the
timed events and here for the slack (today and Wednesday
morning starting at 8:00 a.m., including eventual Hall of
Famer Lisa Lockhart who was here today). But let’s see here,
we’ll take a run through tonight’s performance:
Bareback – We’ve got Ty Breuer sitting in 6th place
in the world standings. And right behind Ty in 7th is
Montana’s own Corvallis cowboy Caleb Bennett, 2nd out of
the chutes tonight. Don’t forget to play some Cowboy Keno!
Oh wait, there’s Richmond Champion, Texas cowboy sitting
4th in the world who follows Caleb tonight aboard J Bar J’s
Smack Daddy (uffda, this should go way high in tonight’s
calcutta!). Tanner Aus comes in 10th; and Clint Laye is 11th
in the world.
Saddle Bronc – Jesse Wright, 6th, on Tooke’s Pride;
can’t overlook Shorty Garrett, 24th in the world, with a
good mount named Smart Guy. Jesse Kruze, a former
winner here as well as the National Finals, is sitting 22nd in
World Standings and the Great Falls cowboy will be riding
All Bells. Chase Brooks of Deer Lodge, who a couple of
years ago Myron Malnaa “got stuck with” in the calcutta
for 45 bucks before gaining national attention and NFR
appearance, is sitting 5th in world standings (by the way,
Chase is from Deer Lodge and Myron collected over $400).
Bull riding – Garrett Smith (8th) is on Little Big Man,
just one of many of J Bar J’s NFR rough stock qualifiers, and
oops, we’re out of time. But it’s easy to say, this is ine top
shelf rodeo, don’t miss out!

all the youth players from the day. They had to drive

Feezel, Closest Chip was Ian Peterson, and Closest Putt
was Oden Hallock — as he put that ball right in the
hole. Each category winner received a dozen golf balls
donated by Josh and Jenni Sillerud. The Overall Winner
was Ian Peterson who received a Student Membership
(Sponsored by Sunnyside) and an Amateur Golf
Endorsement from Dixon Golf.
Many hole prizes were up for grabs with great
items from our awesome local business’s donations,
along with an amazing Raffle Basket from Robyn’s Nest,
a Booze Cooler donated by Markles Hardware and JR’s
Party Store, and a 50/50 Cash Drawing. Thanks to all
these donations and all the players, $2,000 were added
