ABSTRACT
Inflammation plays a significant role in the course of acute ischemic stroke.
Cerebral ischemia changes the balance between neutrophils as an active component of inflammation with lymphocytes as a regulator and protective component of inflammation. The Neutrophil-Lymphocyte (RNL) ratio is reported to describe the inflammatory process of the disease. The infarct volume of the patient's CT scan is one of the objective indicators in cases of acute ischemic stroke. It is expected that the evaluation of RNL in acute ischemic stroke patients can be used to estimate the patient's infarct volume economically and simply. This study aims to determine the relationship of RNL with infarct volume in acute ischemic stroke and find the mean value of RNL in the study subjects. This study was observational analytic with a cross-sectional study design. The selection of samples is in the form of secondary data sources in the form of patient medical records. Patients who meet the inclusion criteria and exclusion of data and the results of their full blood tests are recorded. RNL is calculated and infarct volume is measured from the CT scan of the subject. Analysis of the relationship between variables was done by Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Levene test, and bivariate Pearson correlation test. The researcher got 47 research subjects. The stocking diagram between RNL and infarct volume does not describe the pattern of relations between two variables. The analysis of the research data did not show a significant relationship between RNL and the infaq volume of the subject CT-Scan. The average RNL of the study subjects was 5.38. From these results it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between peripheral blood RNL and infarct volume of CT scan results of acute ischemic stroke patients and mean peripheral blood RNL in acute ischemic stroke patients in this study is 5.38.
