Class, last meeting we discussed about the Drug


Scenario in the Philippines. To test if you really
understand the lesson I will call somebody to answer
my questions.
1. What is a drug? It is a substance (with the exception of food and
water) which, when taken into the body, alters the
body’s function either physically and/or
psychologically.

2. What are the commonly used and abused drugs in  Shabu


the Philippines?  Marijuana

 Ecstasy and etc.

3. MOTIVATION OF THE NEW LESSON

Before we will start our discussion, We will have an


activity. This activity is called “Hangaroo”. I will
group the class into 3 groups. I have prepared here a
phrase with a missing letters. All you have to do is to
guess only one letter in each group and if you know
the answer you have a chance to guess the phrase, but
if your answers wrong the other team has a chance to
guess the phrase.

C. Discussion
Now, this activity will discuss the risk and protective
factors regarding substance use, abuse and
dependence. I will give each group a cut out bond
paper that serves your meta-card. All you have to do
is to list the risk factor on a sheet. A risk factor is one
that can result to using and abusing drugs. And in
another sheet you will list the protective factors. It is
one that prevents them from using and abusing drugs.
Discuss it with your group and present it to the class.
I will give you 10 minutes to discuss w/ your team &
afterwards you will choose 1 representative to present
your work.

choose one and how they can prevent or avoid such a
situation. Write this in your activity notebook or
activity sheet. Limit your answers to 50-100 words.
