Chapter 1

The Problem and It’s Background

INTRODUCTION

Health services can provide students safety

and healthy body. It is t to lessen the illness of the
students. The treatment of health services for
illness, anxiety and other injury of students will have
a quick recovery, which the students can retu rn to
their class quickly. An environment that consistently
provides programs to raise the student5s sense of
health and well-being above what they experience
elsewhere in their lives is where the student wil l
desire to spend time (McCig,M.,2013)

Health services is the most important to

provide emergency treatment in campuses to make
sure that the students are in a good hands when they
are not feeling well in their class. Health services is
a good influence in the students when it comes to
attaining or maintaining healthy body. They will
remind the students about healthy lifestyle and/or
give first aid to minor injuries if there’s any. The role
and the importance of health care system in the
quality of life and social welfare in modern society,
have been broadly well recognized. Also , due to
their growing importance in public finances and the
economy, they have become a dominant economic
and political issue ( Theodoropoulus, S., 2015)

The school should be conduct a health check

to distinguish the students who’s having a good and
bad condition, if they have a good condition in their
health it will not affect their studies but if they have
a bad condition it can affect in their daily lives and
in their studies. School health services staff can
help all students with preventive care such as flu

shots and vision and hearing screening, as well as

acute and emergency care.. Qualified professionals
such as school nurses, nurse practitioners, dentist,
health educators, physicians, physician assist ants
and allied health personnel provide these services.
For students with chronic health conditions, school
nurses and other health care providers play a large
role in the daily management of their condition
(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 20 18)

The Philippine healthcare system has rapidly

evolve with many challenges through time. Health
service delivery was devolved to the Local
Government Units (LGUs) in 1991 and for many
reasons, it has not completely surmounted the
fragmentation issue. Health human resource
struggles with the problem of underemployment,
scarcity and skewed distribution. There is a strong
involvement of the private sector comprising 50% of
health system but regulatory functions of the
government have yet to be fully maximized
(Timbang,T. , 2015)\

Health provision various around the world. Almost

all wealthy nations provide universal healthcare.
Health provision is challenging due to the cost
required as well as various social, cultural, political
and economic conditions (Shah, A., 2011 ) .

Schooling and working are two activities that

take up most of people’s lives. Filipinos may spend
as much as 16 years in school and up to (or in some
cases, even more than) 44 years of work. The basis
for student health services in private schools has a
long history. A few of the laws, policies and
guidelines were intended specially for private
schools while others were intended for all schools in
general (Racelis, R., 2013).

rating of their health care experience and the extent
to which they use services are related to the
availability of health care resource (Lamarche,
