MINISTRY FOR THE SICK AND HOMEBOUND
We are grateful to those who give of their time and care
to bring Holy Communion to our parishioners who
cannot make it to church due to sickness or infirmity. If
you know of anyone who would like to receive
communion in their home or while hospitalized at West
Lincoln Hospital, please contact the parish office.
CATHOLIC MISSIONS IN CANADA
On the weekend of August 10/11, the annual
Canadian Missions Collection will be taken to assist
Catholic Missions In Canada and our paired Diocese of
Churchill-Hudson Bay. Envelopes are being provided.
The collection will be accompanied by a new initiative,
called the Day of Prayer for Canadian Home Missions.

CWL NEWS
Come and have fun at our welcome back Trivia night.
St. Martin’s and St. Joseph’s CWL members have been
invited to join us on Tuesday, Sept. 3rd at 7:00 p.m.
in the Angelina Prokich Memorial Great Hall. Pizza

Membership fees for 2020 are due in September. Blue
envelopes are provided in your offertory boxes, or write
"CWL fee" & your name on a plain envelope and place

SPANISH MINISTRY NEEDS DRIVERS

driving one way - to or from will help. Vans make this

SUMMER MISSION APPEAL
In accordance with Diocesan policy each year we accept
a missionary priest, to appeal for funds for missionary
work. At the weekend Masses for August 17/18, we
will welcome Fr. Ruffino Ezama. Fr. Ezama is a
Ugandan Comboni missionary who was ordained in
1994. He has served in the parish of St. Francis of Assisi
in the Archdiocese of Cotonou. He worked in Lodonga
Basilica Parish in Arua Diocese, Uganda and was also
the Provincial Vocation Promoter of the Comboni
Missionaries in Uganda. He is now serving as Mission
Director in the Provincial house in Cincinnati. (OH)
SANCTUARY LAMP
We have openings for the Sanctuary Lamp in 2020. If
you would like to book a particular week in memory of
your loved one, please contact the office sooner rather
than later as the year is filling up. Cost is $35 per week.

ST. HELEN’S PARISH ANNUAL BBQ & VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION DAY!

WE’RE CELEBRATING YOU WITH GRATITUDE!
WHEN: Sunday, August 18 after 10:00 a.m. Mass ~ WHERE: St. Helen Angelina Prokich Great Hall
We’re grilling hotdogs, hamburgers and sausage. Salad, ice cream, coffee, tea and water will also be availa-
ble! All parishioners are welcome to attend. A sign up sheet will be posted in the entrance of the church if you
plan to attend. In order for us to adequately prepare, we ask your thoughtfulness to sign up in advance rather
than be a last minute drop in. (include your name, number of guests and any relevant dietary restrictions). This
is a great opportunity to just hang out as a community - we hope to see you there!
