Detailed outline of Second ½ of course

Unit 2 Multiplication & Unit 3 Geometry


Pre-Test - No grade taken (for teacher data collection only) – Students will complete a
simple pretest to determine their knowledge of skills based in order of operations. This will
be for growth measurement only, and will not be for a grade.
Week 1 - Mon-Sun
i) Online Fluency Practice - Time requirement
Students will be required to log into their dreambox account (provided by the district) and
complete a minimum amount of time within the assigned area. Instructors can track the
time spent on each area in their dreambox dashboard. Requirements will be 100 minutes
per week. That is about 20 minutes per regular school day. Students can choose when and
how much they complete at each setting.
ii) Week 1 Assignment - Graded
Each weekly assignment will be accompanied with at least two video and one anchor chart.
All assignments will be either digital, or require the student to complete on paper and
upload submissions to the LMS
Week 2 - Mon-Sun
Week 2 will follow the same standard form as week 1. The difference will be the
introduction of more complex assignment requirements or questions. Fluency practice
requirements will remain the same.
Week 3 – Mon-Sun
i) Class wrap up and review discussion board (minimum post requirement)
Students will be required in week 3 to discuss and respond to others about ah-ha and uh-oh
moments during the last two weeks. Students will be required to make an initial post
before Wednesday of the week, and 3 responses of at least 3 sentences before the Sunday
deadline.
ii) Review Assignment – Graded
This assignment will be similar to the weekly assignments, but student will need to locate
their own assistance by referring to previous weeks’ videos, anchor charts, discussion
board, and assignments.
iii) Post – Test – No grade taken (for teacher data collection only)
Student will complete a post-test similar to the pre-test submitted at the beginning of the
unit. The questions will be different, but the concepts in each question will remain
consistent with the pre-test. If growth has occurred, student understanding should show in
the posttest percentage of correct answers.

After Unit 3 is complete, Student will log in and receive their cumulative review of
the entire course. Students will complete review and take the final exam when they are
ready. They will have a 4 day window in order to take the exam.
After the final exam, student will complete a satisfaction survey. Students will rank
items such as communication, ease of use of the course, and usefulness of material. Once
the survey is complete, the students will receive final grades.
