A basic knowledge of ATMs is assumed as a prerequisite for this workshop. The workshop, which can be tailored to
individual needs, will cover the following general areas:

Day 2 - Workshops

The workshops, while 'stand up and teach', consists of theory and practical elements the breakdown by lesson is as
follows:-
LESSON 1: INTRODUCTION TO APTRA ADVANCE NDC PROGRAMMING
Purpose :- This lesson provides an overview of APTRA Advance NDC Programming principles.
Objectives:- Upon successful completion of this lesson you will be able to:

State the rationale or influences behind why APTRA Advance NDC was implemented in the way it was
State the main constituents of APTRA Advance NDC
State the role played by the Customisation Layer and the various flavours of Customisation Layer available
Understand the different mechanisms available for conforming to the NDC Transaction Request/Reply protocol
State which Multi-Media formats are supported via NDC Screen Controls
Understand what the Common Data Interface provides
Understand the role played by some of the APTRA Advance NDC Worker Classes

LESSON 2: APTRA ADVANCE NDC APPLICATIONS

Purpose:- This lesson discusses the underlying application level architecture
Objectives:- Upon successful completion of this lesson you will be able to:

Describe the Advance NDC Application Core

Describe the Advance NDC Customisation Layer
Describe the different types of Customisation Layers
Application Synchronisation
Customisation Layer Extensions
LESSON 3: ADVANCE NDC STATE TYPES
Purpose:- This lesson describes the implementation of various NDC State Types
Objectives:- Upon successful completion of this lesson you will be able to:

Transaction Request / Reply Workers

Status Messages
Exiting from the State Flow
NDC Worker types
Session Control
FIT Tables and associated Workers

WORKSHOPS
Purpose:-The purpose of the workshop exercises is to reinforce theoretical learning through the completion of
practical tasks
Objectives:- Upon successful completion of the workshops you will be able to:

Amend the standard NDC product to display a new picture in an NDC Screen
Modify a Card Read State to allow card-less activation of a transaction, use an ActiveX control to progress to a
Website
Use the Debug Utility to show a trace of activity at the NDC application level
Amend the Customisation Layer to incorporate an NDC Exit
Add a new function “Hello World” to the Select Menu as Option Number 3
When the key is pressed the SST should :
- Display “Hello World” on the current supervisor display
- Log Message To Debug Log
