2 Differences between main field crops and plantation crops?


*Field crops have shorter crop cycles and give quick returns. The crop can be cultivated even in small-sized plots and are harvested within a few weeks to sometimes a year. These crops are
seasonal, meaning they grow only in specific climatic and seasonal conditions. Cash crops earn more profits that food crops. Examples of field crops: cotton, paddy, sugarcane.
*Plantation crops are high-value crops that require systematic and scientific cultivation of a single crop on large estates. They are more profitable than regular field crops. It takes at least 3-4 years
to expect returns from plantation crops. Plantation crops also have specific growing conditions, such as soil weather conditions, but they are perennial crops that grow through the year. Examples
of field crops: tea, coffee, rubber.

pests. Sustainable farming also supports the just treatment of farm workers and food pricing that provides the farmer with a livable income.
