4 S YSTEMS OF P ROTECTION, W ONTROL AND s upervision

This section presents the description of the protection systems, existing control and supervision in

IF Sapeaçu 500/230 kV. Transfer Agent will be the responsibility of the changes in

existing protection systems in SE Sapeaçu 500/230 kV, on the occasion of this expansion.

Any amendments to be made by the Transfer Agent at these facilities

shall, whenever possible, carried out by a company authorized by the manufacturers of these

systems in order not to lose the guarantees of equipment. The Protection System

Control, supervision and Disturbance is being modernized, with the supplier to SIEMENS.

The characteristics listed below already consider this modernization.

4.1 E SQUEMAS PROTECTION

The protection system has two basic segments: span and bar protections, whose

features are met by SCHWEITZER manufacturing equipment, and SIEMENS ELIN.

The signals for triggering and reclosing are directly connected to the protections

corresponding trip relays, not depending on any other equipment to carry out their

Function. The whole system provides the ability to detect and isolate faults, guaranteeing

selectivity and times compatible with the importance of the substation. Information exchange

between primary and secondary protections ensure coordination functions, such as

reclosing, so that does not "rush" times. As common to all the protections,

highlight: All have front liquid crystal display; They have operating keyboards, and

suitable for setting, monitoring and operation;

• LED's to indicate in service, performance, alarm;

• communication ports for integration into the Supervision and Control System

4.1.1 Protection Bar 500 kV

The differential protection system is centralized bars. Each bar has its system

protection installed on distinguished panel at the home of CR501 relays. The bus protection relays are

It operates in the trigger coil 2 breaker. POTT scheme is used (permissive overreaching

transfer trip) associated with the relay Z1B zone. There are five (5) separate zones and

controlled, a total of six for each measuring loop lacking, with all feature type

quadrilateral.

The quadrilateral characteristic allows separate adjustments to the directions X and R. Different adjustments

R may be employed for faults to ground and phase to phase. This feature offers

advantages in the case of faults with resistance. Two Directional Overcurrent

Instant / set time of land are enabled, one to operate the scheme

POTT teleprotection and the other as back-up protection for phase-to-earth when they are not

detected by the distance relay, for they are characterized as high-resistance faults. Still

functions reclosing, synchronism checking and voltage are enabled.

4.1.4 Protection LT Sapeaçu - Ibicoara 500 kV

4.3 E SQUEMAS OF TELEPROTECTION

teleprotection schemes have a unique set of equipment for each

protection / Teleprotection (primary and alternate), each communication equipment has

two channels and uses different transmission media. Thus the transmission line account

minimum 4 Teleprotection channels in each direction, two associated with primary protection

and two associated alternating protection.

The direct transfer trip schemes in each protection are carried out by

using two communication channels of each combined in series. The outputs of

Burst transfer receivers are connected in series such that both units

receive the signal before performing the trip command. It was predicted logic to allow shooting,

even in the case of loss of one of the communication channels.

The Burst transfer channels will remain permanently triggered when the

locking relay operation (when the occurrence of failure to open switches, actuation

protections reactors, overvoltage protection, etc.) and temporarily triggered when

actuated by line protections. The reception logic trigger signal transfer trigger

a high-speed tripping auxiliary relay. The reception scheme has the means to identify

direct transfer trip signals for which automatic restart should be allowed,

those for which the recloser should not be allowed.

In teleprotection schemes based on permissive overreaching logic, one of the channels

each protection is triggered by overreaching measurement units of the line protection. In

teleprotection schemes based on Permissive underreach logic, these channels are

triggered by underreaching measurement units of the line protection.

Each channel has less time signal transmission than 15 ms.

Equipment used for the teleprotection are DIP 5000 model, manufactured by AREVA.

4.4 S YSTEMS OF O SCILOGRAFIA ( R EGISTRADORES OF P ERTURBAÇÕES - RDP)

The digital disturbance recording system employs special equipment and dedicated to

this function, independent of the protective relay in accordance with the Grid Procedures

ONS.
