INTRODUCTION
Health care in India as in many other countries is confronted with growing demand for medical
treatment and services. The medical records must appropriately have all of the patients’ medical
history. Physicians must maintain flawless records, because this document serves a number of
purposes. This study on hospital management system is design to transform the manual way of
searching, sorting, keeping and accessing hospital information (files) into electronic medical
record in order to solve the problem associate with manual method.
It is very useful as it will help to reduce paper work, time consuming and will make process in
simple and faster way. The user can do all processes online related to hospital work like
registration, paperwork, transactions, experts help and so on...
As many people face problem and many people will not be aware about the various schemes
made by government for public so this App will evaluate based on the information user provides
and check users eligibility for any scheme. So you will become aware about that and it will help
you a lot in any emergency conditions.
Our system is “Hospital Management ”. This system is used to help the users of hospital which
have difficulties or facing problem with hospital management system. This system includes
patient details and registration, billing and payments which save time and users(patient) get free
from such paper work processes. The objective is to design a hospital management system by
using the information and data of the users. Basically the system is an android app in which we
need to sign in or otherwise we have to sign up that means we have to create an account.
NEED OF SYSTEM
The systems engineering process is a discovery process that is quite unlike a manufacturing
process. A manufacturing process is focused on repetitive activities that achieve high quality
outputs with minimum cost and time. The systems engineering process must begin by
discovering the real problems that need to be resolved, and identifying the most probable or
highest impact failures that can occur – systems engineering involves finding solutions to these
problems.
There is a need of a system in Hospital Management System for the following reasons:

OBJECTIVES
To develop a system that will make the management system easy and feasible for all.
To save the data of the patients and doctors online saving time and paper.
To develop a system that will help to find a doctor nearby in emergency cases.
To develop a system that will locate the Ambulance nearby a patient in an Emergency
case.

LITERATURE REVIEW
Health care in India as in many other countries is confronted with growing demand for medical
treatment and services. The medical records must appropriately have all of the patients’ medical
history. Physicians must maintain flawless records, because this document serves a number of
purposes. This study on hospital management system is design to transform the manual way of
searching, sorting, keeping and accessing hospital information (files) into electronic medical
record in order to solve the problem associate with manual method. The existing system has been
studied and hence a computer based software was provided to replace this manual method. These
computer based systems generate the patient report as the patient register in and out of the
hospital. It also generate the information regarding the doctor, nurse allot to the patient. This
paper generally looks for a more accurate, reliable and efficient method of computer to facilitate
hospital record’s keeping in General Hospitals to ensure efficient outcome that will lessen time
consuming. The study proposed that the design of hospital management record will be a solution
to the problem being experienced by the current manual method of keeping patient medical
record.
Hospital Management system is a wholesome system that manages and automates the
functioning in the hospital. The system is intended to reduce the manual intervention to the
utmost level possible. This system uses OTP to secure access. It also enables efficient
positioning. Identification of patients who are unable to communicate is done efficiently by the
use of the cards. The two major issues looked upon in the proposed system are: Finding the
doctors under emergency situation and Digitalized prescription. The doctor’s position is recorded
in accordance with the reader that has read the tag most recently. Prescriptions are uploaded to
the medical record of the patient in the hospital database. It can be accessed using card of the
patient. They can buy drugs or take a print out of this prescription from the drugstore of the
hospital.
FUTURE SCOPE:
This prototype model will help people take appointments as per their schedule and free
time.
More user friendly and eco-friendly .
It will provide tracking of ambulance and location of hospitals nearby patient.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATION
Introduction
1.1 Purpose
The purpose of this document is to describe the requirements for the Hospital Patient Info
Management System. The intended audience includes all stakeholders in the potential
system. These include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following: Administrative
Staff, Patients and developers.
1.2 Scope
The proposed software product is the Hospital Patient Info Management System. The
system will be used to get the information from the patients and then storing that data for
future usage. The current system in use is a paper-based system. It is too slow and cannot
provide updated lists of patients within a reasonable timeframe. The intentions of the
system are to reduce over-time pay and increase the number of patients that can be
treated accurately. Requirements statements in this document are both functional and
non-functional.
Front-desk staff:
They all have general reception and secretarial duties. Every staff has some
basic computer training. They are responsible for patient’s check-in or notification of
appropriate people.
Administrators:
They all have post-secondary education relating to general business administration
practices. Every administrator has basic computer training. They are responsible for all of
the scheduling and updating day/night employee shifts.

General System Description
This Hospital Patient Info Management System is a self-contained system that manages
activities of the hospital as Patient Info. Various stakeholders are involved in the hospital
patient info system.
2.3 Assumptions
Here we are assuming that the user is well known to android devices and can use the app
without any training whereas the administration department of the hospital will be will be
trained to make them known to different features of the app.
2.4 Dependencies
The record of the app is dependent upon the management system of the hospital. The
management of the hospital has to save their data every time so that the server becomes
updated. The app is also dependent upon the GIS system. If the system fails then the app
will not be able to update its data and show the updated results to the users.
Registration: When a patient is admitted, the front-desk staff checks to see if the patient
is already registered with the hospital. If he is, his/her Personal Health Number (PHN) is
entered into the computer. Otherwise a new Personal Health Number is given to this
patient. The patient’s information such as date of birth, address and telephone number is
also entered into computer system.
Patient check out: If a patient checks out, the administrative staff shall delete his PHN
from the system and the just evacuated bed is included in available-beds list.
Report Generation: The system generates reports on the following information: List of
detailed information regarding the patient who was admitted in the hospital.

Functional Requirements
1) Add patients
The HPIMS shall allow front-desk staff to add new patients to the system.
2) Assign ID
The HPIMS shall allow front-desk staff to give each patient a ID and add it to the
patient’s record. This ID shall be used by the patient throughout his/her stay in hospital.
3) Delete Patient ID
The administrative staff in the ward shall be allowed to delete the ID of the patient from
the system when the patient checks out.
5) Report Generation
6) Patient information
The Hospital Management System shall generate reports on patients about the following
information: patient’s PHN, patient’s name, ward name, bed number and the doctor’s
name which was assigned.
7) Bed Availability
The Hospital Management System shall generate reports on bed availability about the
following information: ward name, bed number, occupied/unoccupied.
3.3.1 Construction
The system will be available in all the environmental conditions.
8|Page
3.3.2 Durability
The system will function 24*7. There will not be any durability for the system and will
work all the time.
3.3.3 Adaptability
The system will be updated time to time when there is requirement of making changes in
to the system.

CONCLUSION
Thus, we have developed a user friendly and flexible prototype application for hospital
management system.
It is a real time project which is useful for the public who are facing problems with the
current manual work of hospital management.
Hospital management system was successfully designed and this system would help to
hospital department to maintain and record data of patients as wells staff.
After noting down the information and also the payment details can be provided through
this app, we could use this system efficiently.
