Proper waste disposal

Since the garbage collection system is not well managed in our brgy, people dispose the garbage wherever possible
mostly in the drainages or the river banks. This has led to huge environmental pollution deteriorating the health of
mankind and the other living beings. Due to the lack of knowledge of disposing the wastages, people trash the
garbage in a way they want. We can see garbage all around including in the roads, ouside houses. People throw the
garbage without realizing that it is affecting their own health and will deteriorate the future generation’s living
standard.

-according to the respondents there is no fixed schedule of collecting garbage.

-ignorance. People are unaware of consequence of their unwise acts.

-LAZINESS

People are not following correct rules of proper waste disposal. They throw their waste in what place they want
carelessly thinking what will be the effect of that one indisposed properly trash. They aren’t able to give time in finding
bins for their garbage.

Governmet intervention

-Impose waste segregation at source through local ordinances with corresponding fines and penalties.

-Limit the use of plastic bags in groceries and markets through local ordinances and promote the use of
reusable bags.

-Improve garbage collection services provided by LGU.

-8. Promote the use of appropriate container during collection to facilitate easy handling during
collection and maintain good sanitation.

9. Intensive education on proper disposal of waste since the data on illegal dumping is very alarming.

Teenage pregnancy

One of the issue facing our community is the teenage pregnancy, adolescent aged 13-19 are getting
pregnant and this affect their education, health, and their economic status.

One of the reasons having this issue in our barangay are:

-inadequate knowledge about sex.

-alcohol and drugs

-exposure to abuse

-poverty
-family structure

According to the person I interview there are no specific intervention from the LGU that address the
growing rate of teenage pregnancy in our barangay.

Poverty

Poverty and inequality remains a challenge in our barangay in the past years the proportion of
household living below the poverty line has declined slowly and unevenly and poverty reduction has
been much slow.

There is a weak local government capacity for implementing poverty reduction program.

The poor has large members of the family with six or more member.

Poverty levels are strongly linked to educational attainment

Flood

Flooding occurs most commonly from heavy rainfall when natural watercourses do not have the
capacity to convey excess water.

Floods can have devastating consequences and can affects the properties and lives of the people

- The cause of flood are the clogged canals because of the garbage throwned by some people.
- When the dam releases water that goes to the community

Stray dogs

There are a lot of stray dogs in our community Chaotic urban arrangement and overpopulation of the humans
have already led to equally enormous population of stray dogs in majority of places in the world.
