At the end of the session the student will be able to:
- Appreciate Philippine drama theatre
- Analyze Philippine drama theatre
- Perform a play about current Philippine issues

- Drama theatre is a form of art that uses live performers to present
experiences inspired by real life events.

- Drama theatre themes are patterned to political, social and religious


ideologies that becomes a catalyst for social change.

- How does drama reflect real life events/situation?
- What are the effects of these drama in our society?

IV. SUMMARY OF THE EPISODE


“Kahapon, Ngayon at Bukas”, a play written by Aurelio Tolentino. It’s a
play that shows the victory of “Inang Bayan” against its colonialist (China,
Spain and America).

Show pictures from Pre-colonial period to Post colonial period.
Ask the students to pair and fill-out the chart.
Let the students differentiate these periods based on culture, religion,
values and events.

IX. HOMEWORK
For their homework, the students will create an essay comparing
traditional drama theatre versus mainstream media (telenovela, movies
etc.)
