Alat Pelindung Diri adalah suatu alat yang mempunyai kemampuan untuk melindungi seseorang
dalam pekerjaan yang fungsinya mengisolasi tubuh tenaga kerja dari bahaya di tempat kerja.
Kelemahan penggunaan APD :

Sarung APD tidak di pakai karena kurang nyaman

Sarung tangan (Gloves)

Pemakaian sarung tangan bertujuan untuk melindungi tangan dari kontak darah, semua jenis
cairan tubuh, sekret, ekskreta, kulit yang tidak utuh. Selaput lendir pasien dan benda yang
terkontaminasi. Sarung tangan harus selalu dipakai oleh petugas sebelum kontak dengan darah
atau semua jenis cairan tubuh, sekret ekskreta dan benda yang terkontaminasi.
Gloves
The use of gloves aims to protect hands from blood contact, all types of body fluids, secretions,
excreta, skin that is not intact. Patient mucous membranes and contaminated objects. Gloves must
always be worn by officers before contact with blood or all types of body fluids, excreta secretions
and contaminated objects.

Pelindung wajah / masker/ kaca mata

Pemakaian pelindung wajah dimaksudkan untuk melindungi selaput lendir hidung, mulut, dan
mata selama melakukan tindakan atau perawatan pasien yang memungkinkan terjadinya percikan
darah dan cairan tubuh lain. Jenis alat yang digunakan meliputi masker, kaca mata,atau pelindung
wajah digunakann sesuai kemungkinan percikan darah selama tindakan berlangsung.
Face / mask / glasses

The use of face shields is intended to protect the mucous membranes of the nose, mouth, and eyes
during patient actions or treatments that allow sparks of blood and other bodily fluids. The types
of tools used include masks, glasses, or face shields used according to the possibility of sprinkling
blood during the action.

Penutup kepala

Tujuan pemakaian tutup kepala adalah mencegah jatuhnya mikroorganisme yang ada dirambut
dan kulit kepala petugas terhadap alat- alat / daerah steril dan juga sebaliknya untuk melindungi
kepala / rambut petugas dari percikan bahan – bahan dari pasien.
Headgear
The purpose of the use of headgear is to prevent the collapse of existing microorganisms in the
hair and scalp of the officer against sterile devices / areas and vice versa to protect the head / hair
of the officer from splashing materials from the patient.

Gaun pelindung (baju kerja / celemek)

Tujuan pemakaian gaun pelindung adalah melindungi petugas dari kemungkinan genangan atau
percikan darah cairan tubuh lain yang dapat mencemari baju atau seragam. Indikasi pemakaian
gaun pelindung yaitu seperti pada saat membersihkan luka, melakukan irigasi, melakukan
tindakan drainase, menuangkan cairan terkontaminasi kedalam lubang pembuangan / toilet,
mengganti pembalut, menangani pasien dengan perdarahan masif.
Protective gown (work clothes / apron)

The purpose of wearing protective gowns is to protect officers from the possibility of puddles or
splashes of blood from other body fluids that can contaminate clothes or uniforms. Indications for
the use of protective gowns, such as when cleaning wounds, conducting irrigation, carrying out
drainage actions, pouring contaminated fluids into the drainage / toilet, replacing sanitary napkins,
handling patients with massive bleeding.

Sepatu pelindung

Tujuan pemakaian adalah melindungi kaki petugas dari tumpahan/ percikan darah atau cairan
tubuh lainnya dan mencegah dari kemungkinan tusukan benda tajam atau kejatuhan alat
kesehatan. Sepatu harus menutupi seluruh ujung dan telapak kaki dan tidak dianjurkan untuk
menggunakan sandal atau sepatu terbuka.
Protective shoes

The purpose of use is to protect the officer's feet from spills / splashes of blood or other body
fluids and prevent the possibility of sharp objects puncture or fall of medical devices. Shoes must
cover all ends and soles of the feet and it is not recommended to use open sandals or shoes.
