Substance Use Counsellor – Crawford Bay
11 hours per week
As the Case Manager for Adult Mental Health and Substance Use issues you
will provide clinical services to clients in our Community Outpatient Program.
The Case Manager works closely with other members of the clinical team of
psychiatrists, physicians, counsellors and outreach workers throughout the
Kootenay Lake Interior Health region in assessing clients’ mental health
status, formulating a plan of care, implementing planned care and evaluating
outcomes. You will also provide outreach to clients in their home. Clinical
supervision and professional development provided.
Preferred qualifications:
• A degree in social work, counselling or a lesser degree with a
combination of education and experience.
• Able to be registered or licensed with an appropriate provincial body.
• Working knowledge of DSM 5.
• One to three years’ previous work in a similar environment.
• Direct program delivery experience in the community social services
sector with a demonstrated knowledge of community based programs
and community support systems.
• Knowledge of legislative policy, provincial and government frameworks
and systems including the Mental Health act.
• Driver’s licence and access to a sound vehicle for work purposes.

Slowpitch has been revived in Kaslo!
We have had a very successful season that started in
May with six local teams!! The teams are made up of a
variety of skilled players, from beginners to veterans of
the sport – everyone learning more about the sport and
improving their skills!
Three nights a week you could find the bleachers full
of spectators cheering and supporting the players. The
sport and the ball field at Vimy Park truly became a cen-
tral community attraction.
Come celebrate the end of the ball season with us for
playoff weekend Friday through Sunday, August 16, 17
and 18. First game will start at 5 pm on Friday, August
16. Updates to the schedule/tournament will be posted
on the Kaslo Baseball and Softball Association facebook
page and down at the fields.
There will be a concession stand all weekend, a 50/50
raffle as well as a bat draw as fundraising efforts for infra-
structure improvements to the Vimy Park ball diamond.

Is it an option for you?

working for the Kaslo Housing Society. Part of that work
has involved many, many conversations with persons
seeking an answer to the question “Where can I find
affordable housing in Kaslo?”
Co-ops are great places in which to live alone, to share
with someone, to raise children or to age in place. Coop-
erative housing organizations are a common feature of
most Canadian cities and have been for decades. They
just don’t get talked about much. Probably because they
work for those who live there and there is no one trying
