Activity Type Introduction

Reading and matching In this enjoyable teaching activity, students play a pelmanism
activity, pairwork card game where they match and replace underlined words in
sentences with subject or object pronouns.

Language Focus Procedure

Subject and object
Divide the students into pairs.

Give each pair a set of sentence cards and a set of pronoun cards.

Ask the students to shuffle the two sets of cards separately and

If the cards don't match, the student turns them back over,
keeping them in the same place.
The game continues until all the cards have been matched.
The student with the most pairs of cards at the end of the game
wins.

Level Finally, go through the correct answers with the class and review
how subject and object pronouns are used.
