Samantha Ruth

Ruth Prabhu popularly known as Samantha Ruth Akkineni is an Indian Tamil and Telugu
actress. Ruth was born on 28 April 1987 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu in India to a mother from
Kerala and a father from Andhra Pradhesh.
She thus identifies as a person of mixed origin. Samantha is married to Naga Chaitanya, a
fellow actor. Samantha is one of Tollywood's most famous actresses. She earned her first big
break as an actress acting in the film Ye Maaya Chesave where she bagged two film awards
for her role in the film.
In the film, she starred alongside fellow actor and future husband Naga Chaitanya. The two
tied the knot in a colorful ceremony in October 2017. Much like in the story, Naga is a Hindu
while Samantha identifies as Christian. They had two wedding ceremonies, A Hindu
ceremony and a Christian one.
Samantha is a pretty controversial actress and has gained notoriety for speaking her mind on
her Twitter page where she has called out director Mahesh Babu for a poster which she
termed as "deeply regressive". The director's fans came after Samantha but she did not back

that she is actually a diabetic who has managed to live with her condition and manage it
successfully.
3. She Runs a Charity
Following a period of illness in 2012 due to low immunity, Samantha and a group of three
friends set up a charity to offer health care services to less privileged members of the society.
The name of the charity is Pratyusha support. Besides organizing free medical camps and free
cardiac surgeries for women and children, the foundation also helps children with life-
threatening conditions to meet their favorite actors and actresses or to fulfill their last wishes.
4. She Is a Former Model
In past interviews, Samantha has revealed that she grew up in a poor family and had to work
her way to the top. Samantha began working as a model and doing gigs as a host during
events before cinematographer M R Ravi Varman noticed her and gave her what would be
her first film.
